Jeremy Renner ‘Excited’ to Be Part of ‘Mayor of Kingstown’
Also according to Deadline.com, this new show “follows the McLusky family – power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.”
Jeremy Renner has said he is “excited” to join “Mayor of Kingstown” and play Mike McLusky. He is also serving as an executive producer on the new show.
“I am excited to dig into the complex and rough-around-the-edges character of Mike McLusky (the Mayor of Kingstown),” Renner said, according to Deadline.com. “In a world otherwise forgotten in society, Mike serves as a flawed system of checks and balances. Taylor has brought to life a layered and poignant universe that is not only incredibly intriguing but also more relevant than ever.”
In addition to the “Mayor of Kingstown,” Taylor Sheridan has three other new series in the works. One is titled “Y:1883” and is a prequel to “Yellowstone.” There is also “6666,” which is a spinoff of “Yellowstone.” The other show is titled “Land Man.” “Land Man” will focus on oil rigs.
