Singer-songwriter and actor Ryan Bingham decided to ring in the New Year with some Beth Dutton-style swagger.
Ryan Bingham Has Had a Hell of a Year
Bingham plays Walker on “Yellowstone.” And he recently posted to Instagram a photo of himself chilling in a large metal basin. It recalled the scene in which Beth bathes naked in the Dutton ranch water trough.
Was it just a coincidence? Or a deliberate homage to Beth? Either way, Bingham certainly looks relaxed in the sunny scene. He’s got a can of beer, shades and a sombrero. And like Beth, he looks like he could care less what people think of him.
“It’s been a hell of a year to say the least folks,” Bingham posted to his Instagram account on Thursday. “I almost made it through unscathed but I now find myself on the edge, healing up a torn ACL, and a few scars of old and new. I would like to thank all of you for the love, support, and encouragement you have given me this year.”
He added, “I hope that some of this music has helped brighten your light at the end of the tunnel.”
“It takes all of us to make this world go round and I hope that the scars you have endured this year are a long way from the heart,” Bingham concluded. “We will all get through this, and I look forward to sharing this world with all of you in the new year.”
A Singer With a Rodeo Past
In a recent interview, Bingham detailed how he wound up on the Paramount Network show. It turns out he has his own rodeo background that informs his performance on “Yellowstone.”
“I originally met Taylor a few years back when he wrote and directed a film called Wind River,” Bingham told PopCulture. “I never seemed to come up with anything for the movies at that time that fit, but we always kept in touch and remained friends. And when this show started up, he contacted me again about possibly writing some songs and using some of the songs that I already had.”
“After hanging out for a while, he learned that I had a history with rodeo and the cowboy thing,” he explained. “And so he said, ‘Heck, I got to write you into this show.’ And so that’s how that all started.”
