Brecken Merrill, who portrays Yellowstone‘s Tate Dutton, is about to add another role to his resume.
All About Brecken Merrill’s New Role
Merrill will star in We All Got Up To Dance as Emmett LeClair. This marks his first official movie role, and he is the first billed star.
According to the IMDB description, the film takes place during the Vietnam war in Bremerton, Washington, a Navy town. The movie follows the life of a 13-year-old rebel child, played by Merrill. “Comedy is mixed with the more serious aspects of Emmett’s life,” the description reads. “[It] includes a cousin on leave from Vietnam to visit his sick mother in the hospital.”
Dalton Baker will portray Bill Covis while Kristi Phillips will star as Betty LeClair. Additionally, Tony Doupe will play Alton LeClair. Brion Rockwell will act as both director and screenwriter. Meanwhile, Almarie Clifford will produce the film.
Brecken Merrill recently revealed on social media that he was auditioning for a new role. He shared an image of a football in the grass. “Fun audition today! Wish me luck 😁🍀,” he captioned the shot. He also used the hashtag #FlagFootball, could this be a movie about the sport?
Merrell and ‘Yellowstone’ Prequel Series
The cast finished filming Season 4 back in November of 2020. The upcoming season will debut via Paramount+ this summer. If you can’t get enough Yellowstone content, we’re with you.
Fans have speculated that Brecken Merrill will star in the Yellowstone prequel series, Y: 1883. “Every story has its beginning. Y: 1883 is coming to @paramountplus in 2021,” his mother, who manages his Instagram account wrote. Although he was obviously not born over 100+ years ago, we can still hold out hope that the creative writers could involve him somehow.
Creators shared a 10-second trailer during the Super Bowl which caught fans’ attention. Although it was a short clip, fans’ imaginations ran wild with all of the possibilities that the storyline could take. No cast announcements nor a release date has been released just yet.
The show will follow the Dutton family “as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America,” the show’s description reads. “A stark retelling of Western expansion and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land — Montana.”
