Say it isn’t so. Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone, says that the dramatic western series will likely end after season six.

Season four hasn’t even made its way to our TVs yet, and Taylor Sheridan had to hit us with this news?

Yellowstone has been rocking charts with outstanding ratings for the last three seasons, and dedicated fans are already on the edge of their seats for season four. According to numerous cast members’ social media accounts, we know that the next season has wrapped up production, and by this summer, we will have our cowboys back.

Taylor Sheridan Dishes on Yellowstone

Taylor Sheridan, the creator, writer, and director of Yellowstone gave all the tea about the show in a recent interview with Deadline, including the depressing news.

“Can that be another two seasons beyond this? It could. I don’t see this as a procedural show. So, it’s not something that we could extend indefinitely. I don’t think anyone would want to do that; you’d cheapen the product. I haven’t had that conversation with the network or the studio yet. I’m sure it’s coming, but I would think that you would want this to end on an upswing as opposed to a plateau or a descent.”

As for how Yellowstone ends, Taylor Sheridan had that figured out as well.

“Well, I know how it ends,” he said. “I know how the series ends, and you have to move in a straight line toward that end. You can’t walk in circles, waiting to get there, because the show will stagnate. So, you have to keep moving forward, and there have to be consequences in the world, and there has to be an evolution toward a conclusion.”

We honestly wouldn’t mind 17 more seasons of Yellowstone. We can make this like Grey’s Anatomy 2.0.
