‘Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly Reacts to Beth & Rip Tying the Knot in Season 4 Finale

Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly counts herself lucky to be able to play Beth Dutton on the hit Paramount Network series. And now the actress has a new Instagram post up celebrating Beth’s surprise wedding in Sunday night’s season finale.

“Mr and Mrs Rip Wheeler,” Reilly posted to Instagram on Tuesday. “Thank you, you the fans!! For all the support, the passion for the show and these characters. For watching every Sunday!”

“We are so lucky we get to do it,” she added. “Now we do it for you… See you season 5.” And she tagged her co-star, Rip Wheeler actor Cole Hauser.

Yellowstone Wedding Took Fans by Surprise

In Sunday night’s Yellowstone episode, Beth decides seemingly on the fly that it’s time to finally tie the knot with Rip. She’s driving along, just back from her prison visit, plotting her next move, when she spies a priest walking across a lawn.

Cut to the Dutton Ranch, where Rip and John Dutton (Kevin Costner) have been pacing, worried about Beth. Beth barges in and announces that she wants everybody outside, right now. Out in the front yard, the priest is waiting to marry them. (He was apparently brought there at gunpoint by Beth, who is too caught up in the wedding to worry about returning the priest to his environs; that task falls to her poor flabbergasted father.)

Beth and Rip’s engagement has stretched out over all of Season 4, with no time for talk of wedding plans between one attack on the family and another. So most fans did not see this snap wedding coming, and many of them took to Twitter to vent their surprised delight.

“Welp. They done gone and done it,” one Yellowstone fan tweeted.

“I’M ALL FOR THIS! #YellowstoneTV,” another fan enthused.

As Season 4 Ends, Beth Has Jamie Where She Wants Him

In the wake of the Season 4 finale, Beth has Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) right where she wants him at last. With Jamie’s biological father dead at Jamie’s hands and with Beth in possession of pictures showing Jamie dumping the body, Beth has all the blackmail material she’ll ever need. How will she use it?

For starters, it looks like Jamie’s campaign for governor, which pitted him against his adoptive father, is dead in the water. And it looks like Beth has decided not to tell Rip about Jamie’s role in her abortion, after all. For now, anyway.

While Season 4 didn’t end on a cliffhanger like Season 3 did, Season 5 promises to bring answers to many lingering questions. For Beth, Market Equities CEO Caroline Warner (Jacki Weaver) still looms as a serious threat, and for John, Summer Higgins’s (Piper Perabo) fate still weighs on his conscience.

So there will be plenty of grist for Yellowstone fans to debate in the months between seasons. And Reilly can count on them to be right back in front of their televisions when Season 5 premieres.
