‘Yellowstone’ Star Kevin Costner Reflects on ‘Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves’ with Epic Photos

Thirty years ago, “Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner’s hit film, “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” was released. 

The 1991 hit film featured the “Yellowstone” star in the starring role as Robin Hood. To acknowledge the anniversary, Kevin Costner’s Twitter account posted a shoutout to the hit film. 

“This week marked 30 years since Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves has been in the world,” the tweet announced. “Hard to believe three decades have passed!” 

The tweet also included a bunch of photos that would definitely take a “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” fan back in time. 

“I’ve loved hearing from fans their personal memories surrounding this movie,” the @modernwest’s Twitter continued. “Is it a special one to you? Tell me why”

Retelling the classic tale of the Sherwood Forest Outlaws, and their leader, Robin Hood, the hit movie made a splash when it premiered on June 14, thirty years ago. 

Costner’s Robin Of Locksley Searches For Justice

The film features Costner as Robin of Locksley. Locksley is a nobleman who is supporting the king in his crusade. Further, Robin’s father is murdered by the Sheriff’s men, and this pushes Robin to take to the forest and make sure the Sheriff’s men cannot keep terrorizing the countryside. 

The film grossed nearly over $390 million and also launched a hit song. The movie’s theme song “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” saw enormous success worldwide. 

The June 18 Tweet features pictures of stills from the popular film. They feature a variety of major scenes from the film. One of the photos shows Costner in his role as Robin Hood preparing his bow.

Another picture features Costner battling the evil Sheriff of Nottingham. The top photo is one most of the film’s fans will recognize. In the snapshot, Costner don’s Robin Hood’s regular clothes looking as many fans of the flick remember him.

‘Yellowstone’s Kevin Costner A Hit In the 80s

Kevin Costner first found fame in the 1980s. One of his bigger roles in his early days included playing Eliot Ness in “The Untouchables,” Crash Davis in “Bull Durham,” and also “Lieutenant Commander Tom Farrell” in “No Way Out.” 

In 1989, Costner landed a starring role in the hit film “Field of Dreams,” where he played a newbie farmer who is inspired by unseen voices to build a magical baseball field in his cornfield. 

Currently, Costner stars in the popular western “Yellowstone.” 

In the hit show, Costner plays sixth-generation rancher John Dutton. The Dutton family operates the Dutton Ranch. The Duttons are regularly challenged by those who hope to take over the Yellowstone ranch.
