“Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner recently found time to visit “John Wayne: An American Experience,” which is now open in the Fort Worth stockyards.
The legendary Western icon’s estate on Monday thanked Costner, another Western icon, for passing through.
“Thank you to @kevincostnermodernwest for stopping by John Wayne: An American Experience & for keeping the spirit of the west alive!” @JohnWayneOfficial posted to Instagram.

‘John Wayne: An American Experience’ Celebrates Wayne’s Career, Patriotism
The “Yellowstone” star appears to have been in the “Life on Screen” gallery when that picture was taken. Meanwhile, the “America, Why I Love Her” gallery features patriotic displays and audio of Wayne reading Grammy-nominated original poems. The exhibit also features never-before-seen family photos and correspondence, according to FortWorth.com.
There’s also a retail area that sells apparel, Western photography and Western accessories. And the Lounge offers various beverages, including Duke Bourbon.
‘Yellowstone’ Star Has Been Touring with His Band
Lately, Costner has been hitting the road with his band, most recently playing several shows in Texas. The tour launched from Oklahoma and will run through eight cities total.
They’ll be playing songs off the band’s latest album, Tales From Yellowstone. The album was inspired by Costner’s work on “Yellowstone,” in which he stars as John Dutton and which he also executive produces. Costner told TV Insider last year that the experience of being on set put him in a creative frame of mind.
“’Won’t Stop Loving You’ is about [John Dutton’s] inability to let go of his [late] wife. ‘Better Let Somebody Love You’ is his hope for man-eater Beth,” Costner said. “That music all has to do with either characters or how I was feeling while I was there. My trailer is right on the property. To look at the same mountains that Lewis and Clark came down—that’s never lost on me. There’s times when it’s so hot, the pine needles are bouncing on the ground. When the wind blows, there’s that smell. It never leaves you.”
“Yellowstone” Season 4 premieres Sunday, Nov. 7. It should at last resolve the Season 3 finale cliffhanger that’s had so many “Yellowstone” fans on the edge of their seats. Will John and his two remaining children live or die? The cast of “Yellowstone” is not dropping any hints. But you can watch the latest teaser here.
