‘Yellowstone’ TV Releases Montage of Lloyd’s Wisdom That We All Need to Hear

The character Lloyd Pierce certainly isn’t the “Yellowstone” character who gets the most screen time. However, he is a character that usually gets the most out of the time he is on screen.

Thanks to Forrie J. Smith – the real-life cowboy who plays Lloyd on the hit Paramount Network series – there are many entertaining moments on the show with the character at the center.

And, while fans of “Yellowstone” are patiently – or not so patiently – awaiting its return, its Instagram account is keeping them entertained with some of the wisdom that has come from the mouth of Lloyd Pierce during the first three seasons of the show.

Accompanied by a caption that read, “Life According to Lloyd … Lloyd is such a wise cowboy,” the show gave fans a condensed version of some of Lloyd’s best moments.

‘Yellowstone’ Character Lloyd Pierce Offers Words of Wisdom On a Variety of Topics

It appears that the “Yellowstone” character Lloyd Pierce has a little bit to say about a lot of things. Based on the montage of clips shared by the show, his comments cover such topics as mechanical bull riding, friendship, growing older, spending time with friends, dating, being a rugged man, drinking, and, unsurprisingly, competing in a rodeo.

It’s – as described by the Instagram post – “Life According to Lloyd.”

Regarding mechanical bulls, Lloyd Pierce offers this bit of wisdom: “Mechanical bulls are for drunk chicks at the county fair.”

The character also offers his unique perspective on aging. After he is asked if he is too old to dance, he responds by saying, “Ain’t a d*** thing I’m too old to do.”

Unsurprisingly, the rugged ranch hand also had something to say about a quality that is helpful to us all. That, of course, is common sense: “You ain’t got sense enough to pour warm p*** out of your boot.”

Lloyd Pierce also shares some pretty solid financial advice for his fellow cowboys. “If a cowboy needs extra money – he wins it,” Lloyd says. “… Bronc riding, ropin’ … all the s*** we do every day.”

It shouldn’t be shocking that a man who is as tough as Lloyd also has some words to share about being tough. “You can’t teach that … toughness,” he says. “You’re either born a willow or you’re born an oak. It’s all there is to it.”

If you’re a fan of “Yellowstone,” the video is a great watch. And, in addition to the sometimes humorous words of wisdom shared by Lloyd Pierce, the clip ends with a very poignant moment. The closing moments show Lloyd, who has worked on the ranch for many, many years, talk about what the ranch – and working there – signifies.

“Tough business becoming a man, ain’t it?” Lloyd says. “Beats the alternative, though. Come on. Let’s go to work.”
