Well, folks, we don’t know about you, but we’re up for a game of cowboy poker after that episode of Yellowstone. You know who else might be up for a game? The mysterious ranch hand Avery who up and vanished during Season 2. Not to worry, the former ranch hand has been found.

We know. There’s still a lot from “I Want to Be Him” for us to digest too. But we can’t help but wonder what Avery (Tanaya Beatty) returning to Yellowstone means.

If you remember, she was the first female to earn a place in the bunkhouse. That fact seems awfully coincidental considering the fact that John Dutton finally put his foot down during tonight’s episode. He declared no more women in the bunkhouse. Yes, including Teeter!

But we digress. During Yellowstone’s sixth installment of Season 4, Kayce finds himself helping Thomas Rainwater with a horse theft investigation. Who does he find during the process? You guessed it. None other than Avery, the legend herself.

Avery Actor Tanaya Beatty Left ‘Yellowstone’ to Take Movie Role

These days, being a series regular on Yellowstone seems like as good a career builder as starring in a movie. But at the end of the day, the small and silver screens are entirely different worlds.

And we can’t blame Avery actor Tanaya Beatty for taking a role alongside powerhouses such as Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, and Viggo Mortensen in Crimes of the Future. The upcoming sci-fi/horror flick from David Cronenberg began production in August.

The good news is that Tanaya Beatty’s Yellowstone character appears to be back. For how long? We can’t say. But she was a pleasant surprise in tonight’s episode.

Her presence even seemed to bring Monica and Kayce closer together. Monica was a little jealous when she saw the two interact. But Kayce handled the situation like a pro and the couple looked happier than ever in their new home.

How Might Avery Factor Into the Rest of Season 4?

This is a tough one. New additions like Piper Perabo and Finn Little were brought onto the cast with all kinds of announcements and details about what they’re going to contribute to the show.

Avery’s return, on the other hand, was a surprise. What’s left for her on the ranch? Not much. She took a liking to Jimmy, but he’s off becoming a cowboy in Texas. She was as good a ranch hand as Teeter, which is just as good as any of the men. But John Dutton dropped the whole “no more females in the bunkhouse” bomb on us tonight.

Could she throw a wrench into Monica and Kayce’s relationship? It’s possible. But Kayce, for as happy as he was to see Avery, didn’t seem like he was going to pursue that any further.

Either way, you can rest assured that Outsider’s resident Yellowstone crew are going to discuss it on their next installment of Bunkhouse Breakdown.
