‘Yellowstone’ Season Finale: Kevin Costner Says Beth Orchestrated Her Wedding Day ‘Like a Tornado’

Yellowstone star Kevin Costner agrees that Beth Dutton’s wedding was a perfect fit for her.

Costner spoke about the finale in an interview and behind-the-scenes clip with Paramount Network.

“It’s true to Yellowstone. That it happened in a very random way,” Costner said. “Beth orchestrating it like a tornado and everybody else is just kind of just trying to catch on to the tail of the kite.”

Costner’s Dutton patriarch character wanted to make sure that his daughter got the full traditional experience. But she was having none of that and cared more about the marriage than the ceremony.

Additionally, actor Cole Hauser who portrays Rip Wheeler, the groom, also felt that it was fitting for the couple.

“It’s perfect,” he exclaimed. “Spur of the moment. It’s Beth, you know, perfectly personified. And I think Rip loves that about her and you know, if she’s happy, he’s happy and it’s just this wonderful moment. And what a journey it’s been to get to that place.”

The ‘Yellowstone’ Wedding We’ve Been Waiting For

It only took four seasons to see Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler get married on Yellowstone. The simplicity of their wedding ceremony was the perfect end to the fourth season of the series. Finally, fans got to rejoice in their relationship and their commitment to one another. In real life, actors Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly enjoyed their characters’ send-off.

“Even as an actor we’re sitting there and we’re trying to put all the things together and connect all the dots and you’re like, ‘This is f**king crazy,’ you know what I mean?” Hauser told ET. “It all comes together and there’s actually this beautiful moment there. I thought it was pretty touching in the end.”

Obviously, Beth and Rip did not plan the wedding extensively. Firstly, Beth had to put it all together to make sure that they tied the knot before if Rip had to go to jail.

“I mean the way it went down was pretty wild,” Hauser told ET in an exclusive interview. “Her storming in and her gold dress, her dad [Kevin Costner as John Dutton] and I looking at her and going, ‘What in the hell is she up to now?’ Then she has a priest that she’s kidnapped. It’s pretty wild!”

Furthermore, Reilly believes that the action was typical of Beth. In addition, she noted that her character didn’t want the glitz or a wedding dress.

“All she cares about is being his wife and she knows that… I kind of find her slightly heroic in a really messed up way,” she explained.

“It’s just perfect. It’s the perfect wedding,” Reilly continued. “When I read that, it made me laugh. Because I knew we were gonna get married this season, but I didn’t know how.”
