On wildly popular television series “Yellowstone,” Cole Hauser plays a man’s man in ranch foreman and tough guy Rip Wheeler.
Playing the cowboy in black takes a certain amount of grit to pull off the character. In addition to his ranching duties, Wheeler also serves as the enforcer for the prominent Montana ranching family, the Duttons.
Rip carries certain traits and habits that make him an alpha amongst the ranch hands and he isn’t afraid to do the family’s dirty work. He is fiercely loyal to the Dutton clan and is often asked to take on difficult tasks to assist the family on and off the ranch. On Yellowstone, we have seen Rip asked to do everything from breaking a wild horse to killing off family enemies. He has proved time and time again that he is one of the most capable and trustworthy ranch hands around.
Cole Hauser Shares Lessons from Yellowstone Ranch
Hauser certainly takes great pride in playing the character and often shares thoughts inspired by his Yellowstone character. He took to social media on Saturday to share some words of wisdom with his fans and Instagram followers. Hauser’s post encourages guys to focus on being men before worrying about other issues.
“Dam true,” he writes in the post’s caption. The photo shows a young cowboy looking up at his father as he practices with his lasso.
“A man once asked his father, ‘Father how will I ever find the right woman?'” the post says. “His father replies, ‘Forget the right woman and focus on being the right man.'”
We can’t help but think this sounds just like something John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner, would say to his young sons. The photo also looks quite a bit like it could actually be John speaking to his grandson, Tate Dutton, played by Brecken Merrill.
Hauser has a big social media presence with more than 400,000 followers on Instagram. His words of wisdom post did quite well, bringing in nearly 30,000 “likes” along with hundreds of comments and shares.
Despite starring in a number of films, Hauser’s role on Yellowstone as Rip Wheeler has easily been his most popular. With the start of the show’s fourth season coming soon, we will see just what the future holds for Rip and the Yellowstone Ranch.
