Yellowstone fans know it, Outsiders know it: Forrie J. Smith is the real deal – something he continues to show the world just by being himself.
While we Americans typically think of Kevin Costner’s John Dutton or John Wayne when it comes to cowboys, Yellowstone fans know there’s one man who exemplifies the lifestyle: Forrie J. Smith.
Smith was born and raised on a ranch and has been bucking broncos since he was old enough to walk – literally. So when he posts a great gallery of shots at a rodeo event like those below, there’s no surprise in seeing his authenticity. In fact, we’re still pretty sure Forrie just plays himself as Lloyd on Yellowstone. Well, besides the whole death by Long Black Train thing. Forrie J. Smith is definitely not a murderer. So nevermind.
Anyway! The cowboy and actor is “Sharing some good times with the good people at the Chad Berger Bucking Bulls event in Bismark, North Dakota” on his official Instagram Friday. Check out the full row of shots from the event which Smith says was an absolutely “fabulous time!!”
“Lucky fans. Great pics with a handsome cowboy,” comments fan Elize.
“Great pictures Forrie with the crowd!” echoes fan Virginia.
“And damn, I really wanted to buy a bottle of your whiskey! but they sold out fast!!” adds Jay Heinz. Now that would’ve upset this Outsider, too, as the Yellowstone star’s new whiskey collaboration is a damn fine one, indeed.
‘Yellowstone’s Forrie J. Smith: Whiskey Cowboy
“Wait, Lloyd has his own whiskey? Tell us more about that,” you may be saying, fellow Yellowstone fans. And you would be wise to do so.
Chances are, if you’re as big a Lloyd fan as us Outsiders, then the thought of a coffee-infused craft whiskey by none other than real-life-cowboy Forrie J. Smith sounds like a perfect investment. You’re in luck, too, as that’s exactly what the rodeo icon has worked up with Oak & Eden.
Currently, the distillery is collaborating with “America’s most notable ramblers” for their Anthro Series releases. And one of their first selections happens to be as good as it gets: Forrie J. Smith.
For their latest and greatest bourbon, the company says they “partnered with Forrie to create a bold cowboy coffee infused whiskey,” crafted with barrel strength Oak & Eden bourbon and finished with a cold brew coffee infused American Oak spire. Count us in.
“Forrie J Smith is a true cowboy, bold and strong,” Oak & Eden adds of the Yellowstone star in their press release. “He is no stranger to a spirit of hard work and gratitude. From his life in the rodeo to his days as a stuntman in Hollywood to his role as Lloyd on the Paramount hit TV show, Yellowstone, Forrie is the embodiment of a character that has stood the test of time.”
Outsider couldn’t agree more. And for more of Forrie’s salt-of-the-earth work as Lloyd Pierce, be sure to catch Yellowstone Season 4 when it premiere November 7 on Paramount+.
