Alright, Yellowstone fans. We have some breaking news for you — actor Gil Birmingham has officially announced his stance. He is “Team Rip.”
Gil Birmingham is a man of many talents. The San Antonio, Texas, native is best known for his portrayal of Billy Black in The Twilight Saga film series. In addition to that, he is known for some of his TV roles as George Hunter in Banshee and Virgil White in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
However, for those at home who don’t know, Birmingham currently plays the role of Thomas Rainwater in Yellowstone. Rainwater is the newly appointed chief of the Broken Rock Reservation and it’s his sole focus to reclaim their land and legacy. He has made appearances in every season of the show so far. That includes nine episodes in Season 1, seven episodes in Season 2, and six episodes in Season 3. He’s also been in the first two episodes of Season 4 thus far.
Rip Wheeler, on the other hand, is without a doubt one of the fan-favorite characters on the entire show. He is the lead ranch hand on the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. The character is primarily played by actor Cole Hauser, but Kyle Red Silverstein plays a younger version of him in several flashbacks.
Meanwhile, Birmingham announced on social media on Saturday that he is, in fact, “Team Rip.”
“When I tell you, it will make sense. #YellowstoneTV #LetsGoToWork #TeamRip #WhoShotJD #JohnDutton”
‘Yellowstone’ Fans Gush Over Gil Birmingham
It seems like if there was an official poll, Gil Birmingham would be one of the voted as one of the best-looking actors on Yellowstone. Fans of the series flooded Birmingham’s most recent social media post with compliments.
“This man is the best example that muscles, good looks, and intelligence can be combined in one body,” gushed one Yellowstone fan.
“You are just the finest man alive good lord,” another person said.
“What a handsome talented Texas actor,” replied a third fan.
Even Birmingham’s fellow Yellowstone co-star stopped by the comments section. Jefferson White plays Jimmy Hurdstrom in the Paramount Network hit show. Hurdstrom is one of the hands-on the Yellowstone Ranch of John Dutton. He left three “crown” emojis on Birmingham’s post, essentially crowning him a king.
And finally, other fans were more curious and excited about what’s to come in Season 4.
“Waiting with great anticipation,” one Instagram user commented. “Who done it???
“That 2 hours last week was worth the wait,” another fan said.
