‘Yellowstone’ Star Gil Birmingham Has Fans Going Bonkers Over His Latest Throwback

‘Yellowstone’ Star Gil Birmingham is reliving days gone by with a recent social media photo that leaves little to the imagination.

Birmingham plays Broken Rock Tribe leader Thomas Rainwater on “Yellowstone” and does it quite well. As Rainwater, Birmingham has been with the show since the very beginning. His character has had varying roles through the three and a half “Yellowstone” seasons. Rainwater has been both a friend and foe to the Dutton family, even serving as the primary antagonist in the first season. He claims the Dutton family stole the land that they currently own from his ancestors. He believes the property on which the “Yellowstone” Ranch sits rightfully belongs to his people. Despite this, he and John Dutton have formed something of an uneasy alliance based on mutual respect for each other. We’ll see how that plays out as the season moves along.

Birmingham has been in the acting profession for some time and has experience working with “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan. He’s played some interesting characters throughout his time in the cinematic world. On Thursday, he brought one of those characters back to life with a social media post containing a photo from his younger years/ We’re not sure exactly what character he is supposed to be in the photo — but he appears to pull it off quite nicely.

“Dem days, more casual wear,” he says of the photo.

Shirtless and pantless, Birmingham appears to be playing a warrior of some sort in the photo — notice the sword in the background. The “Yellowstone” star doesn’t give us much more information to go on about who he is portraying in the photo or who the little girl he is holding is.

‘Yellowstone’ Season Four Puts Reservation Into Focus

It’s been a rather slow season for Thomas Rainwater and the people of the Broken Rock Tribe. He and Mo discover a man in their casino who is part of the plan to assassinate the Dutton family. After torturing the man for information. Rainwater and Mo then turn “Checkers” over to John Dutton who takes him to the train station and disposes of him.

We’ve not seen a lot of the Broken Rock Reservation but that is likely to change with Kayce Dutton and his family taking up residence. They may also have a cattle thief running loose and stealing their livestock. Kayce appears set to investigate the matter now that his family is taken care of.

“Yellowstone” fans would certainly love to see more of Rainwater and Mo as the season moves forward. Their interactions with Tate Dutton will be interesting to follow. Rainwater tells Monica Dutton that Tate needs a few more sweat lodge trips and that Mo will take him into the mountains when he is ready.

The seventh “Yellowstone” season four episode will premiere this Sunday.
