Yellowstone star Hassie Harrison definitely doesn’t look like a rough-and-tumble cowgirl in this photo.
Actress Hassie Harrison made her Yellowstone debut in the fifth episode of Season three titled “Cowboys and Dreamers.” Hassie plays Laramie, the rough-and-tumble barrel racer who doesn’t care what people think about her. During an interview, Hassie explained that her role on Yellowstone isn’t too far of a stretch from her own upbringing.
“I grew up in Texas around this cowboy culture,” said. “So I knew I had an easy way into this character. Getting to be a part of a modern-day western and bring Taylor Sheridan’s words to life is something larger than I’d even let myself dream.”
But she did dream of it as soon as she first watched the show.
“When I first saw Yellowstone, I fantasized about working in Montana,” said Hassie. “Riding horses, and staring up at the mountains while having a coffee from John Dutton’s porch, but I figured that would never happen. Then one day, I got that impossible call that made all of us chase this crazy dream in the first place.”
Playing a tough country girl may come naturally to Hassie. But she doesn’t look anything like a cowgirl in her latest post. Hassie shared a gorgeous photo of herself in front of a mirror. Along with the photo she wrote, “double H.”
Yellowstone‘s Hassie Harrison Said Kevin Costner is ‘The GOAT’
Undoubtedly, Laramie turned the bunkhouse upside down when she made her first appearance on the Yellowstone set. Her romantic interest in Lloyd Pearce who is more than 30-years her senior especially caught the attention of everyone on the ranch. During an interview, Hassie talked about her character’s relationship with a much older man.
“I don’t think Laramie sees age,” she said. “I think she definitely sees his soul. She kind of clocks that he’s the alpha in the room, and that’s who she wants to be saddled up to.”
It takes talent to play someone who is confident enough to not care about what anyone else thinks. However, Hassie said that when it comes to acting chops, Kevin Costner has them all.
“Well, he’s like the greatest. He truly is the G.O.A.T,” said Hassie. “It was awesome, he’s like the nicest guy in the world. When I did my first scene he came and was like sitting and watching. It was like, ‘Okay, Kevin Costner is going to just sit and watch. Okay, this is going to be awesome.”
