Yellowstone star Jefferson White is not only an actor and podcaster, he’s also an amateur photographer. And he will occasionally grace his Instagram followers with behind-the-scenes snaps from the set of Yellowstone, as he did this afternoon with a picture of Kevin Costner in costume as John Dutton at the Chief Joseph Ranch.

“The Boss on 35mm,” White captioned the photo.

Yellowstone Star Jefferson White Is Most Like His Character in Real Life

In a recent appearance on IMDB’s Burning Questions, Rip Wheeler actor Cole Hauser and Jamie Dutton actor Wes Bentley shared some behind-the-scenes details about White. Hauser said he’d pick White out of all the rest of the cast as being the most like his character, Jimmy Hurdstrom, in real life.

“He’s really smart, but like, then he’ll say something real stupid,” Hauser explained.

White was also, like his character, brand-new to the whole cowboying, ranching, rodeoing lifestyle when he joined the cast of Yellowstone. And at Cowboy Camp, which some of the actors attended early on in the show to help them fall in love with John Dutton’s way of life, White didn’t exactly have the best time.

“His a– got so chapped at Cowboy Camp that they had to put Band-Aids all over it,” Hauser recalled.

In Season 4, Things Are Looking Bleak for Jimmy

As Season 3 of Yellowstone ended, Jimmy had decided to break his promise to John Dutton and begin training to return to rodeo. But after Jimmy fell off a horse, injuring his spine and getting knocked unconscious, there was no hiding his decision.

When Season 4 began, Dutton had bigger fish to fry. But he eventually got around to Jimmy. He sat the ranch hand down and told him he’d be useless to Dutton for several months while he recovered. Then, once he got his mobility back, he’d grow cocky, convinced he’d cheated death, and he’d return to rodeo again. And Dutton wasn’t about to sit around and watch that happen.

So instead, he sent Jimmy with Travis (Taylor Sheridan) to the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas to represent the Yellowstone brand. That meant saying goodbye to Jimmy’s girlfriend Mia (Eden Brolin) and all Jimmy’s ranch hand friends. Jimmy pleaded with Dutton, but to no avail. Now, as Season 4 gets underway, Jimmy’s having to start from scratch on a ranch where he knows no one.

But who knows, perhaps things are not as bleak as they seem for Jimmy. Walker (Ryan Bingham) did tell him that the Four Sixes is an excellent ranch, and his biggest regret in life was leaving it. Audiences will have to wait and see how Jimmy settles in there. Find out by catching Yellowstone Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on the Paramount Network.
