For those that are already missing Yellowstone after this past weekend’s Season 4 finale, don’t fret. At least we still have the podcast available, and a new episode just released on Thursday.

Three of the show’s most popular female characters joined the podcast to talk all things Yellowstone recently. Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), Kelsey Asbille (Monica Dutton), and Jen Landon (Teeter) joined host Jefferson White (Jimmy) for the fifth episode of the new podcast series. “The Official Yellowstone Podcast” premiered just a few weeks ago in December and has already welcomed many of the cast members to speak about the show.

In the newest podcast episode titled “The Frontier Is Female,” the three ladies talk about portraying women in the modern West. As White and Reilly spoke about Yellowstone, the pair opened up about being on-set and filming in Montana. The British actress that plays the fiery daughter of John Dutton is appreciative of filming in the scenic state compared to the facade of Hollywood sets.

“I love being in Montana. That’s part of the… that’s really a win. I would not want to be on a backlot in California for four years,” Reilly shared about filming in Montana.

White says Montana itself does a lot of the work for the cast. The beautiful landscapes, the wild animals, and the weather all make for an immersive experience for the actors. Their filming locations add to the authenticity that Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan strives for on-set.

“There’s something about being that close to the elements and that close to nature,” Reilly said. “I remember being on set one day. They were like, ‘Oh, did you hear about the grizzly [bear] that was seen on set yesterday?’ And driving to work and seeing the bald eagles circling above you. That’s pretty something.”

‘Yellowstone’ Star Says ‘Beauty of the West’ Is at the Core of Show’s Success

During the debut episode of The Official Yellowstone Podcast,” Kayce Dutton actor Luke Grimes shared similar thoughts about filming in Montana. The star opened up about why he thinks so many people have connected with the hit Paramount series.

Yellowstone has skyrocketed in popularity the last couple of seasons, and Grimes thinks it’s in part due to the Dutton family and their ranch. He says the Duttons represent the pursuit of the American Dream. Their family constantly has to fight against those that want to take their land. That’s the backbone of the Yellowstone story, according to Grimes.

“The romantic idea of the west is a part of the reason that people love this show so much,” Grimes explains. “Being able to escape, you know, and just sit in their living rooms and go to this place is one of the most important parts of our show. It’s what Yellowstone is about — sort of fighting for that romantic of what that could be. The Yellowstone Ranch is at the crux of everything in the show. The beauty of the west is at the core of everything we do.”
