Oh, how we love live music. So we’re thankful Yellowstone star Kevin Costner and his band, Modern West, kicked off their tour this week.

Tuesday night, Modern West, as part of its Tales of Yellowstone tour performed at Heritage Hall in Ardmore, Okla. And to get people primed for the live stuff — as if we need a reason — Costner dropped a new song on his Instagram page.

The renaissance man of Yellowstone TV kicked off his eight-city tour Tuesday night in Ardmore, Okla. And if it’s Wednesday, the calendar says that Kevin Costner and his crew will be in Central Texas, playing historic Gruene Hall in New Braunfels. That’s about equidistant between San Antonio and Austin.

Kevin Costner Declares Himself ‘Back on the Road’

Costner posted about Ardmore Tuesday night on his Instagram account:

“Back on the road!” Kevin Costner proclaimed, captioning the video clip:

“To celebrate the #TalesFromYellowstone tour kicking off tonight in Ardmore, I thought I’d share a peek at one of the new songs we’ll be playing live.

“Any song requests?”

Go ahead, turn up the volume on your phone and give Kevin Costner and his band, Modern West, a listen. There’s nothing like a free concert, however brief.

Fans obviously enjoyed the Kevin Costner experience in Ardmore. Fun fact, Costner loves Oklahoma. His grandparents lived in Guymon before moving the family west. And the Sooner State is fond of Costner.

“Oklahoma is a good place for me,” Kevin Costner told the road-trip app HereHear.

The state is awash with special Kevin Costner memories. He filmed parts of his first movie in the state. And in 2019, Costner was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

Next Up for the Yellowstone Star? Texas

Now, it’s off to Texas. Costner plays Gruene Hall Wednesday night (Aug 25). Maybe he can spare the time to grab a meal at the Grist Mill or a dip in the Comal River. in all, Costner has three Texas tour stops. Besides New Braunfels, he’ll also play Crockett and Fort Worth as the tour continues for the next two weeks.

They’re first headed to Gruene Hall, which is Texas’ longest-running, operational dance hall.

Costner and Modern West also are touring to promote the album Tales from Yellowstone. From the album name alone, you probably tell what the music will be about. The album includes 16 songs devoted or inspired by the hit TV show.

One Costner fan wrote on his Instagram account: “Bonfires and guitar strumming with Kevin Costner sounds like a good time.” (We agree)

And, finally, there is a release date for Yellowstone. The fourth season kicks off Nov. 7. Stay tuned.
