‘Yellowstone’ Star Kevin Costner Playing at Oldest Dancehall in Texas, Gives Fans a Sneak Peek at Set List

You’re not a real Texan until you visit Gruene Hall. And you’re not a real country musician until you’ve played the venue that’s been graced by everyone from Johnny Cash to Taylor Swift. Though he spends a lot of his time filming “Yellowstone” in Montana, Kevin Costner and Modern West is playing in the oldest dancehall Wednesday night.

The actor shared a series of clips via Instagram story. The short videos show everything from Costner arriving at the famous hall in New Braunfels to the “Yellowstone” star warming up on the stage. There’s even a sneak peek of the set list.

Guests of the event are surely in for a treat as they’ll witness a rare look where Costner turns in his John Dutton cowboy hat for more laid-back attire.

Hopefully, the actor will get the crowd up dancing and spinning with his tunes.

Gruene Hall is notorious for hosting mega-stars, even at early stages of their career. Legends like Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks and Merle Haggard are just a few country phenoms to take the stage in Texas’ hill country. Even “Yellowstone” co-star Ryan Bingham played on the stage earlier this year. Perhaps there will be a surprise guest appearance and Bingham and Costner will sync up in perfect harmony? (Okay, okay, maybe that’s asking for too much).

The small venue was also used to film the 90s hit “Michael” featuring John Travolta. Anyone remember the fun, sexy “Chain of Fools” scene?

Surely, the “Yellowstone” star knows the honor that goes along with singing from the stage of the oldest dancehall in Texas. Good luck to Costner this evening!

“Yellowstone” Star Kevin Costner’s Band Announces Tour

Not only is Costner a decorated actor, but he recently opened up about his band, Modern West. The group announced its tour this month. Costner was candid in the announcement with an Instagram video post.

“Back on the road!” Kevin Costner said in the video clip:

“To celebrate the #TalesFromYellowstone tour kicking off tonight in Ardmore, I thought I’d share a peek at one of the new songs we’ll be playing live.

“Any song requests?”

The album, which includes 16 songs, is formed from the acclaimed TV hit. Each song is dedicated to an aspect of the show. The small hint Costner gave us infers there’s lots of magic to come.

His tour, which includes eight cities kicked off Tuesday in Oklahoma. The “Yellowstone” actor will play Gruene Hall tonight and then continue on.
