As one of Hollywood’s biggest leading men, Kevin Costner is a busy man with not a lot of wiggle room.
He’s the lead actor on the hit Paramount Network series, Yellowstone, where he plays ranch owner and aging cowboy John Dutton. He just got a green light from the ABC Network on his newest project, which will be called “National Parks.” He is also the lead singer and guitar player for a band he founded in 2007 called Kevin Costner and Modern West. The band recently began playing live shows again as music venues begin loosening COVID-19 restrictions. On top of all of that, he’s bound to get interest in a leading movie role at any given time.
Despite being one of the busiest men in Hollywood, Kevin Costner still finds time for the little things in life. In a 2012 interview with Parade Magazine, he reveals he still finds time to pray for his family and his world. The interview is primarily geared toward his relationship with the late Whitney Houston, but Costner makes it a point to note prayer is important to him.
Kevin Costner Says Prayer is Important Part of Life
“Yes (I still pray), because I realize I have been very lucky,” he says in the interview. “I feel that there has been a hand over my life. I haven’t lived a perfect life and I have regrets. But that’s from a lifetime of taking chances, making decisions and trying not to be frozen. The only thing that I can do with my regrets is to understand them.”
Kevin Costner goes on to tell readers that he prays often for his children and that his only fear is not being able to raise them.
“When I see my children, and when I see the people who value me, I know how lucky I am. … And so I give thanks for the life I’ve lived,” he continues. “I want to live forever, and I know I won’t. I’m not afraid of dying. I’m only afraid of one thing: not being able to raise my kids. When I pray, that’s what I pray for — that I will be the one who raises Grace, Hayes, and Cayden.”
