Of the many stars that dot the cast of the hit Paramount Network series “Yellowstone,” Luke Grimes stands out for his performance on the show.

Grimes plays Kayce Dutton on “Yellowstone,” a former Navy Seal doing his best to keep his young family intact. Kayce is the husband of Native American Monica Dutton and the father of future cowboy, Tate Dutton. Kayce rarely goes out looking for mischief, but trouble has a way of finding its way to him. Rip Wheeler once told Kayce that he “could find trouble at church,” before engaging in a fistfight with him. Kayce has become a favorite of “Yellowstone” for his loyalty to the Dutton family and fierce nature. Now, Luke Grimes has parlayed his “Yellowstone” success into a starring role in an upcoming Science Fiction thriller.

The “Yellowstone” star will reportedly star in the upcoming film “Hello Stranger” with April Mullen directing. Grimes is the first leading actor to be cast in the film with other additions soon to follow. According to Deadline, “Hello Stranger” deals with artificial intelligence and the potential danger it presents.

“In Hello Stranger, a woman attempts to replace her newly deceased husband, Evan (Grimes), with an android simulant,” a synopsis for the film states. “Although SIM Evan appears like human Evan in every way, Faye does not feel the same love for SIM Evan as it does for her. SIM Evan tries to win Faye back, while at the same time, he is on the run from a government agent chasing down SIMs who have become “conscious” and could be a threat to humankind.”

‘Yellowstone’ Star is Perfect Fit for Thriller Film

In addition to his role on “Yellowstone,” Luke Grimes is most noted for his performance in “Fifty Shades of Gray” and “American Sniper.”

Mullen, whose most recent work “Wander” did quite well, says the “Yellowstone” star is the right choice for the film.

“The idea of creating an A.I. simulate to replace a deceased loved one is more probable in our near future than many people would care to consider,” the director says. “Bringing this world to life alongside an actor like Luke who instills humanity and depth into every frame of his work is a director’s dream.”

While “Yellowstone” will undoubtedly make watching the movie a priority, what we really want is the return of Kayce Dutton. Unfortunately, given the events of the third season finale, that is far from a sure thing.

We last see Kayce in season three taking cover behind a desk as gunmen advance on his office. He is able to shield himself from incoming bullets from behind the desk and even return fire. The viewers, however, are left to wonder if Kayce is dead or alive as the final seconds tick away. Many “Yellowstone” fan believe Kayce survives the attack and will be ready for revenge in the fourth season.

We will find out on November 7.
