‘Yellowstone’ Star Piper Perabo Talks Beth’s Feud With Caroline Warner

Although things seem to be intense between her Yellowstone character Summer Higgins and Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton, Piper Perabo admits there’s nothing like Beth’s feud with Jacki Weaver’s Caroline Warner.

During a recent interview with ScreenRant, Yellowstone star Piper Perabo stated she doesn’t think there’s really any man that could take Beth Dutton, but there are two women, one being her character Summer, that can take her one and tear her apart.

“Jacki Weaver [who plays Carolina Warner]. She’s another big boss that comes in this season,” the Yellowstone castmate observed. “And you would think when Beth brought Schwartz & Meyer down, that they would just fold with their tail between their legs and go. But actually, they send in the biggest boss of all. And Jacki Weaver comes in.”

Piper Perabo then declared that while she doesn’t know if anyone can actually take on Beth, but having two women coming from different sides may be a good plan.

Piper Perabo Opens Up About Her Yellowstone Animal Rights & Environmental Activist Character

While chatting with ScreenRant, Piper Perabo shared more details about her Yellowstone character Summer, and her life as an animal and environment activist. “Summer is not from Montana. And she comes to this place to protest with not a lot of knowledge about ranching and its history. And personally, I think that’s a mistake.”

The Yellowstone actress explained that when someone enters a community as Summer has, it’s important that they know and understand the community. As well as understand the dynamics that are working there. “What’s incredible about Summer’s relationship with John [Dutton] is that, actually, John and Summer both care about the conservation of land.”

Piper Perabo then said she thinks John sees even before her Yellowstone character does that they have a common goal. “That’s what brings them together at the start. And I think his deeper understanding and appreciation for protecting the land starts to open her eyes to a bigger picture.”

When asked about the advice she would give to her Yellowstone character, Perabo stated it would be for her to try to stay away from Beth.

“But Summer hasn’t seen all three seasons previous of Yellowstone. So she doesn’t know that. All she knows is that’s Johnson’s daughter. There’s really no way to help Summer. She’s in it. And she doesn’t know what she’s up against.”

In regards to her experience on the set to Yellowstone, Perabo describes the set as being really cool. She also felt like she understood the geography of the ranch from watching the show.

“It’s so bizarre when you first drive up the road that comes to the ranch because you can’t see the barn. You go over a hill before you come up where the other buildings are. And so from the road, can’t really see anything.”
