Fans of the Paramount Network show Yellowstone got a nice surprise on Friday evening when the network posted a picture of Cole Hauser’s character, Rip Wheeler. Wheeler is the hard-nosed, right-hand man of the Kevin Costner character, John Dutton.
As the caption of the post suggests, there was without a doubt no comment needed for the photo. It’s just a glorious photo of Rip Wheeler in the rain gazing off into the distance on horseback. The backdrop of the picture is of course that of a beautiful Montana mountain range.
“Presented without comment. #YellowstoneTV,” Paramount Network wrote on Instagram.
We would have to agree — there is certainly no comment needed. Just take a look for yourself:
Cole Hauser Loves the Outdoors
Not too long ago, Hauser was featured in People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue. Similar to his character, he loves horseback riding and the outdoors in general. Hauser says that riding horses is a great source of exercise for when he prepares to play his star role on Yellowstone.
“Horseback riding at a very high level is a hell of a workout for the core, back, and legs, you name it. Riding and roping and cutting, all the different disciplines we do on the show, it’ll keep you in shape,” Hauser said. “That first initial, when you come back to work on the show, you’re sore for a week, and then you kind of power through.”
Hauser also says that he’ll sometimes take moments to relax while on set. For example, he loves to sit and watch the sunrise over the mountains.
“My favorite time of day is sunset and sunrise. Especially up here,” he told People. “I don’t know if you can see these mountains behind us, but the sun basically comes right over this and over the Yellowstone ranch. And it goes right behind these mountains here into Trapper Peak. And it’s just to die for. I mean, the magic hour here is just stunning.”
Seems like there is ample opportunity to snap some glorious photos of Hauser in character, gazing off into the sunset.
Yellowstone Star Promises ‘Different Rip Wheeler’ in Season Four
The Yellowstone star has promised fans a different Rip Wheeler when Season Four hits. After the cliffhanger ending of Season Three, everyone’s favorite ranch hand will no doubt be on a mission.
Hauser himself teased the various different twists coming in the new season in an Instagram post. He said he was excited to be reunited with the rest of his Yellowstone castmates.
“I just knew that this was going to be special. Then when Kevin came on, and Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley and Luke Grimes – the cast started to fall together beautifully,” Hauser said.
Fans of the show have watched Wheeler form a relationship with Beth Dutton over the past three seasons. And during Season Three, the couple is hitting their stride and stronger than ever. However, a moment of violence is an imminent threat that happiness and has the potential to set Wheeler down a darker path.
“I’ve had the opportunity with Rip to be able to see him grow. And talk to Taylor about the growth of the character over the years,” Hauser said. “In season 4 coming up, it’s more of that, more of seeing Rip evolve.”
