‘Yellowstone’: Teeter Actress Jen Landon Says the Payback the Duttons Will Get Is ‘Incomparable’

In Season 3 of “Yellowstone,” Jen Landon’s character, Teeter, got a taste of how the Dutton Ranch does revenge.

After she and Colby (Denim Richards) got attacked in a river, the ranch hands banded together to torture and kill the man responsible for the attack, Wade Morrow (Boots Southerland). Of course, that show of solidarity was not without a price: first Teeter and several of the other ranch hands had to get branded to prove their devotion to the Dutton Ranch.

In the new Season 4 teaser, the “Yellowstone” star holds forth gleefully about what’s coming down the pike in the new season – particularly for whoever directed those violent attacks on the Dutton clan.

“The retaliation that those who wronged the Duttons are facing is one of incomparable scale,” Landon said.

Landon Undergoes Transformation to Get Into Character

For anyone who has watched Teeter on “Yellowstone,” there will be a jarring disconnect upon seeing Landon speak out of character. Landon is a bubbly Californian who enunciates clearly. Teeter has a unique, barely-intelligible drawl, and Landon really throws herself into it with gusto. The end result is a character you can’t stop watching but can barely understand.

In an appearance on the behind-the-scenes Paramount Network featurette “Stories from the Bunkhouse,” Landon joked around with her Dutton Ranch Bunkhouse co-stars about Teeter’s foul-mouthed way of speaking, which series co-creator Taylor Sheridan evidently spells out phonetically in the scripts.

“I don’t know, I always almost knew what she was saying, all the time,” Landon insisted. Then: “Watch this prove to be wrong and I’m just full of sh–. But I really felt like I understood what she was saying.”

“Let’s just like take a moment, for [series co-creator] Taylor [Sheridan],” she added.

“That’s creating a character,” Ryan actor Ian Bohen jumped in.

“People, they were like, ‘How did you come up with the way she spoke?’ And I was like, ‘I basically just read exactly what [Sheridan] wrote,’” Landon said.

‘Yellowstone’ Season 4: Time for Epic Revenge?

“Yellowstone” fans, hang in there, because the Season 4 premiere is just 16 days away. It’s been a long wait, and many expected the new season to launch in June, as previous seasons did. But now Season 4 is almost upon us.

The two-hour Sunday, Nov. 7 season premiere should be packed with resolutions to the multiple cliffhangers in the Season 3 finale. We already know Rip (Cole Hauser) finds John Dutton (Kevin Costner) by the side of the road, bloodied and unconscious. But does he arrive in time to save his fiancée, Beth (Kelly Reilly), from the rubble that was her office? And what about Kayce (Luke Grimes), who typically doesn’t need saving, but was outnumbered by armed intruders?

As Landon suggested, Rip is likely to rain down revenge upon whoever is responsible for the attacks. But will “Yellowstone” say goodbye to any fan-favorite characters before he does? Fans are on the edge of their seats. But before long, they’ll find out.
