As Season 3 of “Yellowstone” ended, barrel racers Mia (Eden Brolin) and Laramie (Hassie Harrison) found themselves drawn into the world of the Dutton ranch hands through their relationships with Jimmy (Jefferson White) and Walker (Ryan Bingham). They’ve seen the Yellowstone brands on multiple ranch hands. They’ve raised their eyebrows. And – in Mia’s case, at least – they’ve asked some uncomfortable questions.
But the barrel racers themselves have not been free of controversy. Who can forget the scene where Rip (Cole Hauser) threatened to kill Jimmy with his bare hands for getting him stuck in a truck with the talkative Mia? And Laramie ruffled some feathers when she first hopped into bed with the much older Lloyd (Forrie J. Smith), then unceremoniously dumped him for Walker.
Moreover, towards the end of Season 3, Mia had given Jimmy a dangerous ultimatum: Either stick with rodeo, risking life and limb and ignoring John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) orders, or lose her. Jimmy chose Mia, then wound up knocked unconscious after getting tossed from a horse again.
Will Barrel Racers Disrupt The Bunkhouse In Season 4 of ‘Yellowstone’?
The official “Yellowstone” Twitter account has been hinting that Mia and Laramie will be back for Season 4, much to Rip’s irritation and no matter the disruption they’re causing to the bunkhouse. Last month, the @Yellowstone Instagram account posted a picture of the duo along with the caption, “Crashing the Bunkhouse vibes. #YellowstoneTV.”
But not everyone is on board for the barrel racers’ antics. Some “Yellowstone” fans piped up with their two cents on the duo and wished them gone in the comments on the photo.
“I can not stand these two troublemakers,” one fan posted. “She got Jimmy’s head all messed up. Hopefully, she will be gone next season.”
“Yeah these two characters were completely unnecessary,” another fan chimed in. “They have nothing to do with the ranch or the plot of the show.”
“I don’t understand the purpose of their characters,” yet another fan piled on. “What do they bring to the show? They’re completely irrelevant.”
But other fans spoke up on the barrel racers’ behalf, suggesting that the bunkhouse dynamics had gotten too stale and predictable.
“The bunkhouse needed to be crashed,” another Instagram user argued.
Will the barrel racers be back for Season 4? The @Yellowstone Instagram hints at yes, but few details about Season 4 have leaked out. And the recently-released Season 4 trailer shows only Rip and John. So, it looks like there’s only one way to find out. And that is waiting for “Yellowstone” to come back sometime this November. Fans will have to wait until then to find out what’s in store for the Bunkhouse crew.
