Fans are eagerly waiting for the fourth season of “Yellowstone” to premiere this summer. Viewers were left with so many unanswered questions. One, in particular, includes Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley).
Jamie seems to be searching for his identity and most importantly his father’s approval for most of the first three seasons. However, a seed that was planted in season 2 has finally blossomed in the third installment. Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), John’s (Kevin Costner) only daughter, said that he would never love Jamie like he does her and Kayce. Now, we know why. In John’s heart, he does not love Jamie because he is not his blood.
In season 3, fans immediately knew what was coming next when Jamie Dutton needed to sign for his birth certificate in order to fully accept the Montana Attorney General position. When Jamie first lays eyes on the document, he’s in disbelief. As “The Beating” continues, Jamie finally confronts John towards the end of the episode. The fourth-generation rancher reveals everything to his adopted son.
He tells Jamie that his biological father beat his mother to death. As a result, his birth father went to jail, and John and his wife took in baby Jamie. John insists that he loves Jamie just as much as his other children. However, it’s the hypothetical sticks and stones that he throws Jamie way in words that say otherwise.
‘Yellowstone’ Fans Find Clue Regarding Jamie Dutton’s Past
Fans of the “Yellowstone” series are spending their time rewatching the hit western drama series in hope of finding clues as to what’s going to happen in the fourth season.
This one clue they picked up on in season 2 might’ve foreshadowed Jamie’s future findings. Jamie has had a rough go of things lately, and gets sent to the bunkhouse for a little “reset on life.” He’s playing poker with the bunkhouse boys and secretly looks at his winning hand.
“I am rewatching the show and during ‘Resurrection Day’ there was a scene that made me jump from the chair, if linked to what happens in season 3…” writes this person.
The fan continues to explain on Reddit about the cards that Jamie happens to be holding.
“Do you remember when Jaime plays poker with the other cowboys? Do you remember what cards he got on his hand? Check the picture if you don’t and make your own conclusions…,” they conclude.
Jamie is holding the King of Hearts and the King of Diamonds.
Fast forward to the season 3 finale and Jamie’s biological father, Garrett Randall (Will Patton), says, “Yellowstone ain’t a ranch, it’s an empire and empire’s you take.” When Jamie asks how, Garrett says simply, “You kill the king.”
Did Jamie Dutton carry out the attack on John? Or maybe he’s behind all the coordinated hits on his adopted family. “Yellowstone” fans won’t have to wait much longer as season 4 is set to premiere this June.
