Want to know a fun fact about “Yellowstone” actor Cole Hauser? His great-grandfather is Harry Warner, one of the co-founders of Warner Bros.
Hauser recently opened up about a piece of wisdom he learned from the entertainment icon. Earlier this year, he sat down with Kathryn Hall for Hall Wines’ Virtual Happy Hour and started a conversation about documentaries. Apparently, the “Yellowstone” star loves to watch them for educational purposes. Hall said she likes how they’re also entertaining. For Hauser, they really should be both.
“My great-grandfather had this [motto] that was inscribed at Warner Bros. It was ‘Educate, Enlighten, and Entertain,’” Hauser recalls. “And if you can do that three E’s, you know as far as the business is concerned, then you’ve done your job.”
The “Yellowstone” star has certainly done his best to live by that motto. In addition to his more entertaining roles in the hit Western show and action movies like “2 Fast 2 Furious,” Hauser has also done some more serious work. He starred as Billy McBride in the smashing success “Good Will Hunting,” and he also played the lead role in “The Last Champion,” a film about an ex-Olympian finding redemption in his hometown.
For his upcoming projects, Hauser will be the lead in the 2021 film “Panama” and 2022 film “Yolo County O.G.”
‘Yellowstone’ Actor Cole Hauser Comes From a Family of Entertainers
Harry Warner isn’t the only famous name in Hauser’s lineage. Warner’s son-in-law and Hauser’s maternal grandfather, Milton Sperling, was also in the business. He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Writing, Story, and Screenplay of the 1955 film “The Court-Martial of Billy Mitchell.” Sperling also wrote and produced more than 50 films.
On the other side of his family tree, the “Yellowstone” star’s paternal grandfather also wrote for film and television. Dwight Hauser is best known for his work on various Walt Dinsey works, including “The Legend of Lobo,” “Lassie,” and “The Magical World of Disney.”
Hauser’s mother Cass Warner grew up knowing the ins and outs of the entertainment industry. Eventually, she founded her own production company, Warner Sisters. She also wrote, directed, and produced the phenomenal 2007 documentary “The Brothers Warner.”
Finally, the “Yellowstone” actor’s father, Wings Hauser, became a musician turned actor. According to IMDb, he pursued a music career for 10 years before turning to acting full-time. Some of his best-known films include “Insider,” “Rubber,” “Vice Squad,” and “Skins.”
Cole Hauser even married a fellow actor — Cynthia Daniel. Daniel played one of the lead roles in the 1990s teen show “Sweet Valley High,” alongside her twin sister, Brittany Daniel. She also starred in “The Basketball Diaries with Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg in 1995. Since the couple married in 2006, Daniel hasn’t taken any acting jobs. But in 2022, she’ll star with Zach Braff and Gabrielle Union in the new “Cheaper by the Dozen” remake.
