On “Yellowstone,” Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) are the show’s resident star-crossed lovers. It seems there’s always some obstacle in their path, be it Walker (Ryan Bingham), the Beck brothers’ henchmen or, at the end of Season 3, a lethal explosion that tears through Beth’s office.
As Season 3 drew to a close, fans were just beginning to get used to the idea of Rip and Beth’s engagement. Then they saw that prospect potentially snatched away by the season-ending explosion.
Now fans are hopping on Reddit to demand a Rip-Beth wedding in Season 4. We know Season 4 has already been scripted and shot. And the cast is reportedly at work filming Season 5 now. So it’s a bit late to make demands of season co-creator Taylor Sheridan, who writes most episodes of the show. Still, fans clearly want to see a happy ending for their favorite characters.
‘Yellowstone’ Fans Want To See Rip Marry Beth
One fan kicked off the thread with the question, “Will there be a wedding?” Responses were almost universally affirmative, with some fans implying that they don’t care if they have to wait until the end of Season 4, but they want to see a wedding.
“I have not waited for over a year for Season 4 for there not to be a wedding. I better get a Beth and Rip wedding,” one fan replied.
Another “Yellowstone” fan posted, “I really hope so! Cole Hauser has suggested in interviews that people will be pleased with Season 4 and how it ends. Of course, that could refer to many, many things but I can’t imagine many people being happy if there isn’t a wedding in there somewhere. I know I sure won’t be! 🙂 Lots of Beth and Rip fans out there cheering for that.”
“I absolutely refuse to acknowledge the possibility that there won’t be a wedding,” yet another user chimed in obstinately.
There were some dissenters, however. One Reddit user suggested that television weddings don’t turn out well in the end.
“Hopefully not,” the user posted. “Weddings always end badly on TV.”
Another couldn’t envision Rip and Beth dolled up for a ceremony, saying they’d end up married without a big wedding.
“They don’t feel like the wedding type. They’ll get married, but I don’t imagine a ceremony,” the “Yellowstone” fan said.
Hauser And Reilly Seem To Be Rooting For Rip And Beth
In a May interview for Deadline’s Contenders Television event, both Hauser and Reilly seemed to be rooting for their characters to find a happy ending on “Yellowstone,” despite the odds. At the event, the two actors spoke to the events of the past three seasons and their hopes for Season 4.
“As far as Rip’s concerned, that was his first and only love from when he was 15 years old,” Hauser said of Beth. “Time stopped for him and he realized how really special she was… I love what Taylor did. He made it a slow burn for us and it has taken four years now to investigate each other as people.”
“Beth and Rip are soulmates and have been since they met,” Reilly added. “They are so tough and hard-headed and the capacity of violence is in them both, but they provide a safe haven for quiet, peace and love.”
“Yellowstone” fans have waited a long time to find out if Rip and Beth are going to make it. And now there are only a few months left before Season 4 premieres, at last, this November.
