‘Yellowstone’ TV Fans Discover How Close the Real Chief Joseph Ranch is To Major Road and Town

“Yellowstone” fans are not content to wait with bated breath for the Season 4 premiere. In the downtime between seasons, they have taken up all kinds of debates and speculation.

And now, “Yellowstone” fans are resorting to virtual flyovers of the Dutton ranch. A fan posted an aerial view of the ranch, courtesy of Microsoft Flight Simulator, to Reddit today. That promptly launched a discussion of how close the ranch is to a major road and nearby town.

The real-world setting for the fictional Dutton ranch is the Chief Joseph Ranch, which is located in Darby, Montana.

‘Yellowstone’ Fans Discuss Ranch’s Location

The original poster kicked off the thread by explaining that the game uses Bing Maps to simulate the entire world, allowing players to fly around and explore it. Another Reddit user pointed out that Google Earth also allows you an aerial view of the ranch.

“Crazy how close to a major road it is,” the user added.

“Yeah quite surprising,” another “Yellowstone” fan agreed. “I had always imagined it was further away from the rest of the town… I also had no idea that some of the towns they reference like Missoula, Three Forks, Bozeman and Billings were so far away from the ranch lol.”

Meanwhile, some fans were just enjoying the view. Admiring the ranch from afar is the best they can do as they wait for the long-delayed Season 4 premiere.

“Can almost see Beth smoking from that view,” another fan posted wistfully.

“Now fly over the train station,” a fan with a darker sense of humor chimed in.

Season 4 of the Hit Series Is Months Away

Long-suffering “Yellowstone” fans finally got some good news this month when Paramount decided to reveal when Season 4 would premiere at last. The bad news? It’s not in July, nor in August. It’s not even in September. Fans will have to wait until early November to find out what happens to their favorite “Yellowstone” characters.

Still, in a trailer released shortly before that announcement, “Yellowstone” promised fans that all their waiting would not be in vain. The trailer ends with a clip from Season 4, in which Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) comes across John Dutton (Kevin Costner) bleeding and unconscious by the side of the road.

“John, don’t you die on me now,” Rip pleads. “Not like this. You hear me?”

Will fans ever get to see their favorite Duttons – John, Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Kayce (Luke Grimes) – in action again? All three faced attacks by mysterious assailants in the Season 3 finale. And Hauser may have joked that “nobody’s safe in Montana after that,” but will fans finally get to see Rip rain fury down upon the foes who tried to kill the Duttons?

“Revenge,” the trailer teased, “will be worth the wait.”
