Some stars of “Yellowstone” come from Hollywood royalty. And in the downtime between seasons, fans are just now taking the time to learn about the actors’ celebrity roots.
For example, in a recent thread on Reddit, “Yellowstone” fans discussed which stars have Hollywood history in their family tree and how surprised they were to learn of those connections.
“I just found out Teeter is Michael Landon’s daughter,” one fan kicked off the thread. “And she was in Banshee and has won 2 Emmys for daytime soaps.”
Teeter Actress Jen Landon Is the Daughter of Michael Landon
Michael Landon, of “Bonanza” and “Little House on the Prairie” fame, was Teeter actress Jen Landon’s father. Doctors diagnosed the actor, writer and director with late-stage pancreatic cancer in the spring of 1991. He died that summer, when the actress was just a small child.
But Michael Landon left behind some unique memories and words of encouragement for his daughter.
“I’m not the kind of person who gives up without a fight. If I’m gonna die, death’s gonna have to do a lot of fighting to get me,” the “Little House on the Prairie” star told Life magazine toward the end of his days, according to the Associated Press. ″I want to see my kids grow up. I want to play baseball with Sean [his 4- year-old son]. I want to know if Jennifer [his 7-year-old daughter] turns out to be as good an actress as I think she will be.”
No doubt the late Hollywood star would be proud to see his daughter’s portrayal of Teeter on a hit television show that has shattered ratings records and is now beginning to receive the recognition it deserves.
‘Yellowstone’ Star Cole Hauser Is the Great-Grandson of a Warner Brother
Rip Wheeler actor Cole Hauser is the great-grandson of the first president of Warner Bros. studio, Harry Warner. He is also the son of actress, director, and writer Cass Warner, who founded the production company Warner Sisters, and actor and director Wings Hauser.
Moreover, Hauser’s paternal grandfather, Dwight Hauser, directed a well-known radio series, “The Whistler,” during the Depression-era. And his paternal great-grandfather was the first governor of Montana, where “Yellowstone” films.
“That takes commitment. That takes tremendous vision, and man, I respect the hell out of it,” Hauser said in an interview with his mother of his great-grandfather’s efforts leading up to the founding of Warner Bros. “I love it. Makes me proud to know that it’s my family.”
Mia Actress Eden Brolin Is the Daughter of Josh Brolin
Eden Brolin, who plays barrel racer Mia on “Yellowstone,” is the daughter of actor Josh Brolin and the granddaughter of actor James Brolin, who is married to Barbara Streisand.
The “Avengers: Infinity War” actor has shared plenty of old home movies and family photos on social media, People reports, and is clearly a proud papa.
As for Eden, she’s happy to be joining a long line of Brolins in the entertainment business, but it wasn’t exactly a breeze following in her father’s footsteps. She told Parade last year that she auditioned for four “grueling” years before landing her first acting job.
“I don’t want to say that acting was something that I felt resigned to, but I was willing to explore it and continue being in the frame of mind where I have other things that I’ve enjoyed doing,” she said. “I did other jobs that I didn’t mind at all. This is something that has continued to fall into place for me, and I’m allowing that to happen.”
“Yellowstone” Season 4 is set to premiere this November. Watch the trailer here.
