Yellowstone has no shortage of deeply passionate fans, and one has just found this perfect insult courtesy of their “3rd re-watch.”
Oh, Jamie and Beth. What a relationship. If we can even call it that. These two are constantly at each other’s throats, and there’s loads of familial history and drama to back it up. While Yellowstone has painted Jamie as the villain in the situation, there’s no denying the sheer love/hate dichotomy these siblings share goes both ways. Vehemently.
So it should come as no surprise that a 3rd watch-through of Yellowstone would bring new revelations about these two. One fan on Yellowstone‘s ever-active Reddit board has done just that, and it’s a doozy.
“On my 3rd re-watch… Jamie’s ring tone for Beth! How did I miss that? Bahahah,” Redditor basura_trash posts of his discovery.
In short: Jamie uses a brilliantly insulting ringtone for his sister, one that immediately shows his feelings towards her. But in a subtle lawyer/sibling sort of way. For those who can’t recall (such as fellow Yellowstone fan BunkhouseRyan who asks “what is it?”), user 00Shambles replies with the goods. Well, sort of:
“It’s like a series of weird alien vibe-ish theremin-sounding noises… Reminds me of something you’d hear on the soundtrack of a cheesy 50’s sci fi movie,” they respond of Jamie’s ringtone for Beth.
“Dunno if it has a name or is from anything specific… My take was it’s spooky odd nature is somewhat representative of his feelings toward Beth,” they clarify.
Where Will Jamie and Beth End Up in ‘Yellowstone’ Season 4?
“I laugh everytime I see that scene! I love that ring tone. If you look at his phone you’ll see her full name is Bethany, usually Beth is short for Elizabeth,” they comment.
Little details like this are among the many things that set Yellowstone apart from the rest on television. And it leaves us wondering, what revelations will we see this Fall for Season 4 for Beth – and Jamie?
As phenomenal as Beth is as a character, we can’t help but assume there’s bigger fish to fry come this next season. And that fish’s name is Jamie.
Will Jamie Dutton betray his family come Season 4? It’s the question on every fan’s mind. The foreshadowing is strong here, too, as Taylor Sheridan is fond of. Honestly, after everything Jamie (Wes Bentley) has been through with his adoptive Dutton kin, it might be more surprising at this point if he doesn’t betray John (Kevin Costner), Beth (Kelly Reilly), and the rest.
But does this mean we’re in for a pleasant surprise when he, in fact, does not attempt to or succeed in ruining his family? Jamie now has the seeds of patricide planted in his head thanks to his biological father, Garrett Randall, his biological father. Don’t forget, either, that Jamie has already betrayed his Dutton father, John, before. Multiple times, really.
Something tells us that Season 4’s stakes are so high, that whatever happens with Jamie and his family will make holding political office to spite his father and spilling all to a shady journalist (that is now dead) look like child’s play.
No matter which way Yellowstone Season 4 takes us – we can’t wait to find out.
