Having taken the country by storm through its first three seasons, Yellowstone continues to build an insanely impressive fan base.

Fans of the modern western series simply cannot get enough of the popular show. The Paramount Network smash hit is currently in between seasons, but that hasn’t stopped Yellowstone fans from talking about the show. Online message board communities, like Reddit, have entire forums with nothing but Yellowstone.

Some fans head to forums to speculate and theorize what will happen in the upcoming new season. Others are re-watching previous seasons trying to find hidden clues that reveal what will happen next. It may be the “offseason” for Yellowstone but for true fans of the ranch, there isn’t one.

Though the series is now three seasons old, some people are just now discovering the thrill of Yellowstone Ranch. As with many show watchers, these first-time viewers have a lot of questions about the show and its characters. A recent Reddit post asks how millionaire investor Dan Jenkins was able to survive a “hanging” near the finish of the first season.

Yellowstone Fans Turn to Message Board for Answers

“How the hell did Dan survive?” the poster asks. “They legit hung him at the end of season one. I understand he was cut down but still. Not to mention Dan is suppose to be a multi-billionaire or whatever. How the hell did he not hire the best lawyers to bring down the Duttons for that?”

To refresh your memory, Dan Jenkins, played by veteran actor Danny Huston, is a primary antagonist in season one. Teaming with Native American reservation leader Chief Rainwater, he has his sights set on the Dutton family’s ranch and will stop at nothing to get it.

On orders from John Dutton, Rip Wheeler and the ranch hands corner Dan Jenkins. They then take him to the middle of nowhere. Sitting atop a horse with a noose around his neck, it is John Dutton’s son, Kayce Dutton, who slaps the horse, which takes off leaving Jenkins to hang.

Despite hanging for a good amount of time, Jenkins somehow survives after the hands cut him down and take the noose off. Jenkins would go on to make peace with John Dutton and team with him and Rainwater in season two to take down the Beck brothers. He is later shot and killed by a Beck family assassin.

With Jenkins and the Beck brothers now out of the picture, we wait to see who will emerge as the greatest foe to Yellowstone Ranch and there are several suspects.

With the fourth season now just months away, Yellowstone fans won’t have to wait much longer for answers.
