Did you catch the news about 6666? It’s the soon-to-be developed show from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.

And might we see Yellowstone star Kevin Costner doing some crossover shows with 6666? Maybe that’s coming. You can imagine the storyline. John Dutton, whose family owns the largest ranch in the country, travels from Montana to Texas to do some business.

Yellowstone is one of the most-watched shows in cable TV history. With Kevin Costner as its star, the show was the most downloaded last year on three different streaming platforms. Those were Amazon, iTunes and Fandango. Its season three finale last August drew an audience of more than 5 million viewers. There is no premiere date, as yet, for season four, but should be coming soon.

Taylor Sheridan, who created the show, signed a monster deal with ViacomCBS to create even more shows. The first Yellowstone spinoff is called Y:1883. We know it’s a prequel and will tell the story of how the Dutton family settled in Montana and pulled themselves out of poverty. The show was announced during the Super Bowl, Feb. 6.

We know that Y:1883 will premiere sometime this year.

What Do We Know About 6666?

Meanwhile, we have some clues about 6666. For one, it’s an actual ranch in Texas. Locals refer to it as the Four Sixes Ranch. It’s part of Burnett Ranches LLC, which is a family-run business in Texas. All total, the Burnett Ranches encompass more than 260,000 acres. The Four Sixes is based in Guthrie, an unincorporated town in King County about 90 miles east of Lubbock. That’s definitive, flat-as-a-pancake West Texas.

Paramount+ has set a narrative for the show. It says “The 6666 is where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing … The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world class cowboys are born and made.”

Does any of this fit with Kevin Costner? It certainly sounds like his type of show.

We also know a few more details that could make 6666 Kevin Costner friendly. Two Yellowstone Ranch hands will be part of the 6666 cast. Actors Jefferson White (Jimmy) and Ryan Bingham (Walker) will move to the Texas-based show.

But, again, not many details are known, only that the Yellowstone brand with Kevin Costner is getting broader.

“We will be introducing new characters and storylines alongside world-class talent and creators,” said David Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios. “We are very much looking forward to bringing these shows to life.”
