“Yellowstone” fans were left hanging at the end of season three about the fate of John Dutton played by Kevin Costner. And now, Costner’s leaving fans hanging again.
Kevin Costner mentions in a recent interview that he’s not able to say if the patriarch character is returning for season four. ET Canada has shared some of the interview with the legendary actor.
“I can’t say,” Costner responds when asked about his “Yellowstone” character. “There’s an ending that you’re gonna see, hopefully it’s a powerful one for you.”
Costner continues to play coy and won’t give any sort of hint. “I try to make things and be a part of things that have a dramatic arc to them. Just try to enjoy it right up to the end if you can,” he adds.
Kevin Costner Has Been a Staple in the Series
The “Field of Dreams” actor joined the western drama series at its start. One of the first scenes that we see is of Kevin Costner emerging from a tractor-trailer accident.
Costner stars as John Dutton, the patriarch of the largest cattle ranch in the United States. The ranch spans over thousands and thousands of acres in Montana. This land has been in the family for a number of generations. So yes, John’s made some enemies because his land has been under attack for decades.
Season three of the award-winning Paramount series ended with quite a cliffhanger. We’re not only left waiting to find out about John Dutton’s fate, but also two of his children’s fate as well. Plus it wasn’t looking too good for Jimmy (Jefferson White) either as the season came to an end.
Fans of the show have been taking to social media to talk about the ending and what to possibly expect in season four. What we do know about season four is that the filming location has changed. The show’s producers moved the iconic scenes from Park City, Utah to Missoula, Montana.
Now we just have to wait and see if Kevin Costner makes it in season four, or will he succumb to his gunshot wounds and die.
