Kevin Costner chats about “Yellowstone” in a recent interview and it’s what he says that has fans concerned. Viewers think he’s not returning to the hit series.
The end of “Yellowstone” season 3 left a lot of lives in the balance and prompted many questions. One of the characters, John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner, is one of these storylines that has fans worried.
Costner’s reportedly been addressing the question at hand, will John Dutton return. Of course, the legendary actor is keeping his cards close to the vest, but this is what he told Good Day New York in a recent interview.
“I can’t say. There’s an ending that you’re gonna see, hopefully, it’s a powerful one for you,” Costner says. He also explained that he likes to “make things and be a part of things that have a dramatic arc to them.” The 65-year-old actor even offered up advice to “Yellowstone” fans, “Just try to enjoy it right up to the end if you can.”
Costner’s response didn’t answer any questions. In fact, it brought about more speculation from loyal fans. This “Yellowstone” watcher took to Twitter to share their input.
“So, I’ve read a rumor at least 3 times that Kevin Costner has been fired from the show. Please confirm that it isn’t true please!” they write.
Furthermore, in weeks leading up to this interview, other rumors speculated that Costner was unhappy filming the show. The rumors say that Costner was “unhappy that he had to uproot his family to Montana to film the show’s fourth season.” However, a spokesperson for Costner later said there’s no truth to these rumors and that the actor is “very proud of ‘Yellowstone’.”

Despite all this gossip surrounding Kevin Costner and his return to “Yellowstone,” the actor told Good Housekeeping prior to filming the fourth installment, that’s he’s “ready to get to work” on filming season 4.
The “Field of Dreams” actor even shared a photo from the beautiful outdoor set on his Instagram. Filming for season 4 has since wrapped and is ready to hit Paramount Network this summer.
However, Costner also mentioned to the publication that filming the fourth installment would be more difficult because he would be away from his family for longer periods of time. “It puts me away from home. I go home every moment I can,” he shares.
As fans anxiously wait for season 4, the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan has already told fans that there will be two more seasons after this. However, season 6 will be the final in the hit show series.
