Yellowstone star Ryan Bingham hosted an acoustic musical festival in Texas. And with this custom playlist, you can feel like you’re right there with him.

Before he landed the role of Walker on Yellowstone, Ryan Bingham was a successful singer-songwriter. In fact, he wrote the multi-award-winning song, “The Weary Kind” for the movie Crazy Heart. In 2019, Bingham decided to get back to his country roots by hosting The Western Music Festival. The festival was a small gathering that featured acoustic “song swaps.”

“When I started playing music it was around Austin and the Hill Country area in Texas. And there were always campfires and picking circles and I loved being a part of that,” said Bingham during an interview in 2019. “But the more you start touring and the bigger the shows get, the less you get to be around that kind of environment. So I wanted to create an event that has a little bit of that. That’s why we are doing a super small acoustic song swap and a dinner on the first night of The Western and then a full day of music the next day. In festival terms, it will still be an intimate setting and my wife and our team are making sure we create something that will really be a special experience for everyone.'”

Ryan Bingham’s Custom Festival Playlist is Almost a Good as the Real Thing

After years on the road with his band, Ryan Bingham grew tired of the average music festival.

“Over the years of playing music festivals — a lot of the time music festivals tend to be just a big tent and a parking lot. They can be a bit stale and they just end up being like another stop on the tour,” said Bingham during an interview. We just thought ‘Shoot, if we’re going to do this every year, why don’t we put on our own festival and make it something unique and special that people really look forward to going to?'”

The 2019 festival was a success. Unfortunately, Bingham canceled the concert in 2020 due to the pandemic. He hasn’t released any details about a possible festival this year. If you were lucky enough to attend the festival in 2019, we’re jealous. If you’re like us and missed out, you can still be transported to the festival via Ryan Bingham’s custom playlist. Let the sound waves transport you to a campfire in Texas! The playlist features artists including The Americans, Elizabeth Cook, The Wild Feather and, of course, Ryan Bingham.
