‘Yellowstone’ TV: Rip Wheeler Proves He ‘Really Is Fearless’ in New Video

The Paramount Network has released a new video clip from “Yellowstone.” In it, John Dutton (Kevin Costner) tells Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) he must not be scared of anything if he’s marrying Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly).

Rip just laughs. “Yep,” he replies.

Rip Is Fearless

“Rip really is fearless,” the official Yellowstone account tweeted Monday.

Rip has led a hard life, with a violently abusive father and the death of his mother at an early age. But then he met Beth while both of them were still youngsters, and he found a bright spot in this life.

Beth hasn’t always been kind to Rip. As a teenager (Kylie Rogers), she aborted their child, then told Rip they shouldn’t hang out together anymore. As an adult, she engaged in a brief fling with Walker (Ryan Bingham) on the ranch right in front of Rip.

But love triumphed in the end, and Beth finally asked Rip to marry her after John Dutton told her Rip would never ask on his own.

‘Yellowstone’ Stars Hit It Off

Interestingly, both Hauser and Reilly are redheads in real life. According to the Express, Hauser revealed that he dyed his hair to take on the role of Rip. Before he dyed it, he said, they looked too much like siblings.

“Kelly’s a ginger and I’m a ginger as well,” Hauser said. “So we looked like we were brother and sister! So we kind of had to make sure that wouldn’t be the case.”

Hauser recalled that show co-creator Taylor Sheridan proposed the idea to him. “I don’t want to do it to her,” Sheridan said, “but what do you think about dying your hair?”

Their similar hair color was really the only way that Hauser and Reilly clashed. In all other respects, they both say they get along well. And as “Yellowstone” fans know, their chemistry is palpable.

“I’ve loved working with Kelly [Reilly],” Hauser told Hollywood Life. “She’s just a spectacular actress and a wonderful person. In Season 3, we get to do some really good work together.”

As for Reilly, she told Esquire that Season 3 brought some interesting scenes with Hauser, with “a sort of quiet, healing vibe going on.”

“I found those scenes really interesting to play,” she added. “Whether it lasts or not, it wouldn’t be a drama if it was constant. I don’t think that we’re at the happy ending stage yet, but I think there’s a glimmer of happiness and where that happiness and where that peace could live, you know what I mean?”

Season 3 ended with a spectacular explosion in Beth’s office, among other developments. But the new clip from the “Yellowstone” Twitter account has fans hoping that by Season 4, there will still be a Beth and Rip to tune in to watch.
