‘Yellowstone’ TV: The Roarke Line You Missed That May Seal His Involvement in Season 3 Finale Dutton Attacks

Ever since the ending of season three, one question has been floating in the minds of “Yellowstone” fans and they are ready for answers.

“Who attacked the Dutton family?”

Season three of the heavily popular Paramount Network series came to an explosive end — literally and figuratively. In the third season “Yellowstone” finale, we see three members of the prominent Montana cattle ranching family come under attack. Family patriarch John Dutton is shot in the chest several times while helping a stranded family change a flat tire. John’s son, Kayce Dutton, also comes under ambush as he sits in his own office.

John’s only daughter, Beth Dutton, receives a mysterious package that turns out to be a bomb. The bomb detonates inside of her office only a few feet from where she is standing. Viewers are left to wonder if each of the three Duttons is dead or alive. It’s expected that fans will learn the fates of the Dutton family early in the new season. From there, it is likely the show will focus on just who is behind the attacks.

Nick Davies, a behavior expert, analyzed certain scenes from the third season in an effort to figure out who is behind the attacks.

‘Yellowstone’ Fans Search For Clues In Attack

He says he does not find any sociopathic tendencies in the Roarke Morris character. He notes that Roarke actually warns Beth of what she might be getting into with his “poking the grizzly bear” line.

“In the first clip in the bar, he displays too much understanding of the fish not feeling pain,” he says of Roarke according to the Express. “A sociopath wouldn’t even consider anyone experiencing pain, they only focus on their own needs. He clearly fishes for sport rather than consumption which, although some people may see this as unpleasant or cruel, it doesn’t demonstrate psychopathic behavior. I would say he may know the killer when he warns her (Beth) what she is getting into.”

The Duttons have no shortage of enemies with motivation to take them out. It could be a single entity behind all three attacks or there could be multiple entities in on the ambush. One of the prime suspects behind the attack is the Market Equities duo of Roarke Morris and Willa Hayes.

The group initially tries to purchase Yellowstone Ranch for $500 million. It is a more than fair offer for the property, but for John Dutton — the ranch is priceless. Miffed that John turned their enormous offer, Morris and Hayes turn to using dirty tactics to purge the Duttons from the property. Market Equities desires the land in order to turn it into an airport and tourism hot spot. But, according to at least one behavior expert, Roarke Morris is likely not the culprit behind the attacks.

“Yellowstone” fans will have to wait a little while longer to get answers to their burning questions.
