“Yellowstone” star Brecken Merrill is one proud actor. His show is up for two prominent Hollywood awards, and he couldn’t be happier.

“Congratulations to my #yellowstonetv family on the #hollywoodcriticsassociation #award nominations,” the Tate Dutton actor posted to Instagram on Friday. “I have always been proud of our show and the talent we have in front of and behind the camera.”

‘Yellowstone’ Receives Two HCA Nominations

The Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) on Thursday released the list of nominations for its inaugural HCA TV Awards. “Yellowstone” is up for Best Cable Series, Drama. And Beth Dutton actress Kelly Reilly is up for Best Supporting Actress in a Broadcast Network or Cable Series, Drama.

The HCA TV Awards ceremony will take place at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles on Aug. 22.

The HCA rebranded itself in 2019 after initially going by the name of the Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society. The group launched in 2016. They have been giving out awards for filmmaking for several years now, but this will mark the first year that the group has recognized television achievements.

On its website, the HCA celebrates “a new era in Hollywood” and claims to speak for a diverse assortment of critics representing backgrounds across the U.S. Besides embracing diversity, the HCA also embraces new methods in film criticism, such as vlogs, webcasts and podcasts.

“New media is here to stay and so is the HCA,” the group declares.

Brecken Merrill Has Been Staying Busy Between Seasons

Meanwhile, Merrill has been maintaining an active presence on social media in between seasons of “Yellowstone.” He recently shared a picture of himself sitting at a picnic table with co-stars Luke Grimes and Kelsey Asbille for the 4th of July. And then he posted an ominous promo for Season 4 of “Yellowstone” featuring a crow and darkened skies.

When he’s not online, Merrill has been keeping busy with a new puppy, a Jack Russell Terrier named Betty. He also has a new hobby: dissecting owl pellets.

Moreover, Merrill recently showed off his new haircut, just in time for his 13thbirthday. The “Yellowstone” star became a teenager in June, a startling development for fans who’ve watched him grow up on the show.

So what does the future hold for Tate and his family? Fans will have to wait until November to find out.
