Yellowstone actor Brecken Merrill and his mother were the recipients of a “gross” gift recently from a family member.
According to a Wednesday afternoon Instagram post, Merrill’s “Papa Bob” sent him a kit to examine owl pellets. It isn’t exactly a sentimental gift but is one that could come in handy if you’ve ever wondered about an owl’s digestive tract. Merrill took to social media on Wednesday to “show off” his new gift with Yellowstone fans.
“My Papa Bob was out at the farm last weekend and found a bunch of owl pellets,” Merrill says in the post. “My Mom is gross, so she asked him to collect some.”
Papa Bob then takes the initiative to send the Merrill family the necessary tools to collect and examine their own owl pellets. Brecken, whose been on Yellowstone since the beginning, doesn’t sound overly excited about the prospect of collecting and examining the tiny items.
“Today, we got a fun surprise in the mail!” he says. “Papa Bob put together a whole kit so now we can dissect the pellets (did I mention my mom is gross). I will let you know if we find anything cool.”
Yellowstone Star Gearing Up for Season Four
Merrill plays Tate Dutton on Yellowstone, a young cowboy in training and the son of Kayce and Monica Dutton. Tate spends his days hanging out with his grandfather, John Dutton, and the Yellowstone Ranch hands.
The youngest member of the Dutton family has been through the wringer in the first three seasons. The first season saw him do battle with a rattlesnake in a drainage pipe. When he kills the snake, his father cuts off its rattle for Tate to keep as a souvenir. In the second season, Tate is kidnapped by a militia and held hostage at the command of the Beck Brothers.
Yellowstone fans certainly hope season four goes much smoother for young Brecken and Tate Dutton.
