‘Yellowstone’ TV: Watch Rip Wheeler Actor Cole Hauser Tell Story About Falling Off Horse in 2020 Interview With Jenny McCarthy

Veteran actor Cole Hauser knew he was taking on a tall task when he joined the cast of “Yellowstone.”

“Yellowstone” is a show about a ranch full of cowboys who are all about the western style of life. As everyone knows, Cowboys ride horses and you wouldn’t make a very good cowboy if you can’t ride a horse. Knowing he would be playing a cowboy on the show, Cole Hauser brushed up on his horse-riding skills. His training went well, but as he tells Jenny McCarthy in a 2020 interview – he has had a few close calls. When McCarthy points out there is a lot of action on the show that could lead to injury, Hauser is quick to point to one such incident. Luckily, he came out of the “Yellowstone” horse-riding incident with no harm and a good story to tell.

“I have flown off a horse once,” he says in the interview. “But, I landed on my feet. I don’t know how but that’s really it. That was the only time and I was cutting and a cow stopped right in front of the horse and just spun off of it. I think, and knock on wood, there’s be a couple of close calls – I’m not going to lie – but nothing bad. Thank God. I’m too old to fall off of a horse right now.”

Hauser also discusses the “cowboy school” that “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan put the actors through. It certainly paid off for Hauser as he knew what to do and escaped harm after falling from the horse.

Cole Hauser doesn’t just play any cowboy on “Yellowstone,” he plays the rough and tough bunkhouse leader Rip Wheeler. Since his introduction to the show, Rip has become a favorite among the “Yellowstone” faithful. A certified bada** in every sense of the word, Rip rules the group of ranch hands with an iron fist. His no-nonsense approach to life on the ranch has earned the respect of every single cowboy on it.

Rip is a more than capable cowboy on “Yellowstone” ranch, but it is his work off the ranch that has endeared him to the fan base. Rip is as loyal as can be to John Dutton and his family. A large and intimidating presence, he serves as an enforcer for the Dutton family. He also has a small army of ranch hands who you won’t see backing down from a fight anytime soon. Rip has shown there are no lengths he won’t go to in order to protect the Duttons and “Yellowstone” ranch. Ready to get his hands dirty at a moment’s notice, Rip is more than willing to permanently do away with Dutton family enemies.

“Yellowstone” fans hope to see Rip’s role continue to grow as a new season draws near.
