If you think you know, Yellowstone fans, then you know… And the implications for the new trailer’s voiceover are enormous for the Dutton family.
“Revenge is worth the wait.” Or so Yellowstone‘s marketing for Season 4 has kept reminding us over the long wait that has been 2021. But now, we fans have the official November 7, 2021 premiere date for the show’s return on Paramount+! And it feels so, so good.
To accompany Thursday’s big reveal, Paramount Network released the following, killer teaser for Season 4. Within, we relive the final moments of Season 3 through the assassination attempt on Kevin Costner’s John Dutton. Here, though, we see his plight from new angles, with new footage, and a remarkable setup.
The highlight, however, comes at the very end. A fine, spine-chilling stinger if you will.
“We’re at war, you and me…” a seething voice growls as the screen fades to black. But who’s voice is it?
Let the countdown officially begin. The highly-anticipated season 4 of Yellowstone will premiere on November 7, 2021, exclusively on Paramount Network. And trust us: Revenge is worth the wait.Paramount Network
For this Yellowstone diehard, the answer was immediately clear. The person behind this line is 100% none other than Wes Bentley. Which means, as many fans continue to speculate, Jamie Dutton and his adoptive father, John Dutton, are officially at war for Yellowstone Season 4.
‘Yellowstone’ Season 4 to Feature ‘War’ Between John & Jamie Dutton
While I feel like I shouldn’t be surprised, hearing Jamie’s voice utter such powerful words in such a tone struck a hard cord within. Through Taylor Sheridan’s writing and Wes Bentley’s performance, audiences still cannot make their minds up on whether Jamie is to turn full Dark Side or not. Bentley himself can’t, either! But now we have our answer. And the actor probably has for a good while now, too.
Or do we? Genuinely, this is what makes the character so compelling. As damning as his voiceover in the Season 4 trailer is, Jamie still leaves us fans clinging to the hope that he’ll return to his family. If the picture Paramount is painting for Yellowstone‘s return turns out completely accurate, however, it feels as if Jamie Dutton is about to commit – or already has – crimes against his family that he cannot come back from.
We’ve discussed it at length here at Outsider, but the evidence is mounting that both Jamie and his biological father, Garrett Randall, will be the main antagonists for Yellowstone moving forward. Randall actor Will Patton has been bumped up to a series regular for Season 4, after all. So his time in this universe has just begin. And the Duttons, well… They won’t be better for it.
Do we think Jamie is behind the Season 3 finale assassination attempts? Honestly, that’s still a big ol’ maybe. But it is good to know we have some concrete answers heading our way come November 7 for the premiere of Yellowstone Season 4.
