‘Yellowstone’ TV’s New Star Finn Little Shows Off Roping Skills From Balcony in Awesome Clip: ‘Country in the City’

It makes perfect sense that if you want to star in the television series “Yellowstone,” you need to know how to ride a horse and rope cattle.

That is the task for “Yellowstone” newcomer Finn Little, who was announced as part of the season four cast recently. Little, who is just 15-years-old, will join Brecken Merrill as the show’s youngest actor. Merrill, of course, plays the young cowboy in training, Tate Dutton. Little will be playing a character named “Carter” in the upcoming brand new season. Not a lot of information is out there regarding Finn Little’s character, other than he is brought to the ranch by Beth Dutton.

During the season four cast reveal, it was revealed that Carter may have a similar backstory to Yellowstone rancher Rip Wheeler. The rough and tough cowboy was taken in by the Dutton family as a youth to work on the ranch. Rip’s back story is also quite tragic as he was forced to kill his father as he hurts his mother. John Dutton and the Dutton clan have a history of taking in neglected youth and making them into legitimate cowboys. If Carter is similar to Rip — he will likely do just fine on the ranch and also become a fan favorite.

Since joining the “Yellowstone” cast earlier this year, Finn Little has been quite active on social media. The young actor has put out several posts proclaiming his excitement for the return of the show. On Thursday, Little says he is bringing a little bit of the country into the city. He also shows off his roping skills in the brief video. It is a work in progress, but Little seems to have the basic theory of roping down pat.

‘Yellowstone’ Star Excited for Show’s Fourth Season

“Missing the country life,” the “Yellowstone” star says in the post’s caption space. His short video is dubbed “Little bit of country…in the city.”

In the video, the young Australian actor appears to be attempting to rope a tree from his back porch. He’s got a nice tight lasso roper and sure enough, he snags a tree on his first try. He may not appear in a rodeo anytime soon but he meets the credentials for a spot in the “Yellowstone” cast. Numerous fans of the hit Paramount Network show express admiration for his dedication to the part.

The upcoming new season will not be the first time that Finn Little and “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan have worked together. Little had a role in Sheridan’s most recent film “Those Who Wish Me Did.”

One wonders if Sheridan will put Little through “cowboy school” as he did with the show’s other cast members.

“Yellowstone” will make its highly anticipated return later this year in the fall.
