‘Yellowstone’s Jefferson White Says ‘Lines are Very Blurry’ Between One Star and Their Character

“Yellowstone” fans have likely taken notice of the fact that the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, is spending more time in front of the camera lately.

On “Yellowstone,” Sheridan plays horse expert Travis Wheatly, a serious man with little time for nonsense. He traveled to the “Yellowstone” Ranch to assist John Dutton’s trek into the horse-trading business. In the first three episodes of season four, we don’t see a ton of Sheridan’s character.

His favorite hobby appears to be sitting atop a horse while it continuously spins in circles. It must be a very dizzying hobby, to say the least. When he prepared to leave the “Yellowstone” Ranch, Travis is asked by John Dutton to take Jimmy to Texas. He is to take Jimmy to the Four Sixes Ranch, where he will stay for a while, learning the ins and outs of being a cowboy. Their journey gets off to a rough start as Travis isn’t one for small talk. They do eventually bond in their way and Travis gives Jimmy some advice on how to handle himself on the ranch.

In a recent episode of “Stories From the Bunkhouse,” Jimmy actor Jefferson White talks about working with Sheridan. The “Yellowstone” star he’s deeply enjoyed working with Sheridan in front of the camera. He also notes it can be tough to distinguish when Sheridan is in character and when he is himself.

“The lines are really blurry,” he says drawing a big laugh from costars Denim Richards and Ian Bohen. “The Taylor and Jefferson relationship is not so different from the Jimmy and Travis relationship. I know my place and it is to speak when spoken to.”

After dropping Jimmy off at the Four Sixes Ranch, Travis heads his own way. We don’t know if we will see him again.

‘Yellowstone’ Creator Spending More Time in Front of Camera

Travis is a super interesting character and we hope to see Sheridan reprise the role at some point. He’s certainly made a fan in Jefferson White.

“Travis is like this hilarious character,” White says. “And the fact that Taylor wrote Travis for himself — I think is so funny. It’s such a funny, like, joke within a joke for him to write that stuff for himself.”

Jimmy has had a roller coaster of a ride so far in the “Yellowstone” fourth season and it may not let up anytime soon.

In the first episode, we learn Jimmy survives his season three off of a bucking horse. He’s badly injured though and requires extensive physical training.

Angry that Jimmy broke his word over participating in rodeos, John Dutton jettisons Jimmy off the Ranch. Now, Jimmy will pick up the pieces and move forward at the Four Sixes Ranch. This storyline will transition nicely into the upcoming “Yellowstone” spinoff “6666.”
