PHOTOS: Farmer Plants 6,000 Oak Trees, Flowers in Shape of Heart to Honor Wife After Her Death

Photos emerged on Google Maps of a large heart in the middle of some wood in the UK with a special meaning for the farmer’s wife.

This story is going to have you asking your significant other what they have done for you recently.

Social media is exploding with all the feels after an aerial view of a farm in the UK revealed a massive heart in a clearing. The farm owner allegedly honored his late wife by planting nearly 6,000 oak trees in the shape of a heart after her death.

In the middle of the clearing, he planted daffodils, which beautifully bloom every spring.

Since Twitter is a place full of brilliant people, one helpful user even found the field’s coordinates. Type into your Google Map search bar, “51.607538,-2.386582,” and it will take you to the beautiful green heart.

The 112-acre farm is located just outside Wickwar, which is only half an hour from Bristol.

The Farmer’s Love Story

The couple was identified as Winston and Janet Howes. According to Elite Readers, the couple married in 1962 and has one son. Like every great love story, tragedy was a way of following. In 1995, Janet was just 50-years-old. She suffered from heart failure that eventually took her from Winston.

To keep her legacy alive, Winston wanted to devote a special place for him and their son to remember Janet. The farmer began to plant trees.

Six thousand, to be exact. He started planting the oaks in a field near the couple’s house but never made the tribute public

“It is a lovely and lasting tribute to her which will be here for years,” said Winston Howes.

It wasn’t until fifteen years later that Andy Collett, a man in a hot air balloon, noticed the massive heart in the farmer’s field. He said the symbol was “the most amazing sight.”

“You can just imagine the love story. I have my own balloon and am quite a regular flyer, but this was the most amazing sight I have ever seen from the sky.”

The article reports that “Winston planted the trees meticulously around a six-acre field of grass to create a heart shape, with the design’s bottom tip pointing toward Janet’s childhood home in Wotton Hill.”

Be right back. I’m going to buy myself a bouquet of flowers and pretend it means as much as this spectacular testimonial to their love.

We just hope we can marry someone that goes to these kinds of lengths for us.
