Polaris made a recent announcement that they will be releasing two special edition utility vehicles designed with big game and waterfowl hunters in mind.

A lot has changed for the lineup since the Ranger first debuted 22 years ago as a purpose-built 6×6 UTV. Since then, it has become a top choice for North American hunters because of its outstanding utility and versatility.

The two special edition vehicles go by the names Ranger XP 1000 Big Game and Ranger XP 1000 Waterfowl. Both vehicles will be available in three-seat and Crew models. And in true Polaris fashion, both are factory-equipped to deal with the toughest terrain you can find.

Polaris Big Game Edition

The Big Game Edition was made to help hunters navigate across extreme terrain. After all, it’s usually the remote places where the biggest trophies live.

The company’s new vehicle comes equipped with arched A-arms and 29-inch Maxxis tires. That combination promises to provide 14 inches of ground clearance, along with increased traction and cornering stability.

Polaris has also fitted the UTV with a self-leveling suspension system. As a result, the vehicle is able to automatically adjust to maintain ride height over difficult obstacles or when hauling gear and game.

Those that need to make their way through hilly or mountainous terrain will no doubt benefit from the active descent control system. It works with the engine braking system, engaging all four wheels for maximum traction on your adventures.

The color scheme will feature an exclusive Polaris Pursuit camo. It covers the entire vehicle and features a unique mix of birch, oak, and pine elements.

The exterior of the Big Game edition is enhanced with a larger, heavy-duty front bumper. What’s more, it also has a Pro HD 4,500-lb winch mounted in a higher position, giving hunters easier access when recovering game. Meanwhile, its LED headlights are 90% more powerful than your conventional halogen versions.

Polaris has also launched the Big Game Accessory Collection. The accessory collection includes hunt-specific storage and added lighting solutions.

Waterfowl Edition

Polaris is also releasing a different model for those who prefer to hunt ducks and geese. The Waterfowl Edition has been specifically designed to power through wet and muddy conditions.

This edition utilizes 29-inch Pro Armor Mud XC tires. Similarly, just like the Big Game Edition, it features high-clearance A-arms that maximize the 14 inches of ground clearance.

And because this model will spend much time in the water, it is equipped with high-mount air intakes and clutch ducting. Furthermore, the winch and electrical components on the Waterfowl Edition are completely waterproof.

This UTV benefits from similar exterior enhancements to the Big Game Edition. These include a heavy-duty front bumper, the Pro HD 4,500-lb winch, and LED headlights. However, its camo pattern has a specific design to mimic that of marsh grasses.

And like the Big Game Edition, this version has a Waterfowl Accessory Collection that provides hunters with additional enhancements.

You can order both editions on the Polaris website for an MSRP of $20,199 for the 3-seat version or $21,599 for the Crew models.
