If you think you are dedicated to your town’s high school football team. Think again.

Two fans were denied access to a West Virginia high school football game due to COVID-19. The school has a rule that no one other than players and immediate family can be on school grounds during this time.

The fans, identified as former players Ethan Spencer and Bailey Alderman, wanted to support their school’s team and got creative.

The men can be seen in a tall tree outside the stadium watching the game where the Richwood Lumberjacks took on Sherman, from the comforts of a deer stand.

Spencer recalls how the men hatch the idea in the first place

“It was actually my buddies’ idea. He is all the time getting me into stupid stuff like that. I don’t know why I always do it. I got off work one day, and he called me and said, ‘Hey man, you want to go buy a tree stand and put it outside the fence and watch the game?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, sure.””

Spencer goes onto say that setting up the stand, however, was so easy task.

“We put the tree stand together before we even found the tree. So we had to go find a tree afterwards. We thought it was going to be easy. But the tree we put it in wasn’t the best tree to do it. It was basically the only choice we had. We made it work. It was the best seat in the house. I wish we had done it earlier.”

The boys say they plan on watching their fellow Lumberjack’s for the rest of the four home games this season from their box seats.

Post From Football Game has Gone Viral

In a Facebook post made by Jeromy Rose, he captured the two men sitting happily in their tree with the caption, “Don’t ever doubt Richwood Lumberjacks fan’s brilliance when it comes to finding a way to support their team while respectfully obeying Covid-19 restrictions by staying off school property. Way to go, gentlemen.”
