The USA Clay Target League has launched its very own homeschool league.

The Basics

The new program was developed for homeschool associations, students, organizations, and families in mind.

“Most states have laws that restrict or even prevent homeschooler participation in school-organized youth activities,” Josh Kroells, Operations Manager of the league told Hunting Life. “That deprives many youth of important opportunities to socialize, build relationships, and develop a sense of community and teamwork.”

The new league will allow students nationwide to join. It is Title IX compliant, meaning both female and male athletes will compete on the same team. Additionally, the sport is adaptive, so those with physical disabilities can also take part.

Students who intend to join the newly formed league will have to undergo and complete firearm safety certification before they participate. The league is one of the safest sports out there as there has not been a single reported injury since its inception back in 2001. The new league will be a new division of the USA CTL.

All About the USA Clay Target League

The league is Americas biggest youth clay target shooting organization. Students can partake in Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, and 5-Stand. Overall, they have 30,000 students in 1,200 school-approved teams. The new homeschool league will give students who are not a traditional school to join a team. As for the league’s priorities? Safety, fun, and marksmanship.

Along with the new homeschool league, the organization offers a high school league and college league. Due to COVID-19, the spring league was canceled. Along with friendships, athletic activity, students also attend conferences. There are even scholarships available for athletes.

With the new addition, students have the opportunity to start their own local league virtually anywhere in the United States. The USA CTL will also work with home school associations to form teams. College and traditional high school students also have the opportunity to create their own team.
