The North Face Partners With Gucci to Create 1970s-Inspired, Mega-Expensive Outdoor Gear

Tackling the outdoors never looked so good, and after being stuck inside for almost a year, this collaboration is just another excuse to get outside. The North Face and Gucci partnership combine high-fashion and functionality for everyday wear.

To some, this is one of the highly-anticipated collaborations of 2021. Gucci and The North Face are bridging the gap with various outdoor pieces, each showcasing what the brand does best.

The collection ranges from puffer jackets, to goose down skirts, dresses, shirts, and even a retro-looking onesie, Elle reports.

In addition to apparel, The North Face and Gucci collaboration includes two ’70s-inspired backpacks, waist bags, knitted bobble hats, bucket hats, and a pair of luxurious leather hiking boots. Rounding out the collection, for all you campers out there, is a tent and a sleeping bag.

The colors and prints range from patterns and colors that are synonymous with each brand. But there are also pops of colors and funky retro-patterns that breathe life into this outdoor gear.

Furthermore, The North Face isn’t a stranger to collaborations. However, his marks for the time that Gucci has partnered with another brand with Alessandro Michele at the helm. Some might be shocked that the high-end luxury brand is partnering with an outdoor company, but Gucci has recently made moves to become carbon neutral. High Snobiety also reports that Gucci is no longer going to release seasonal collections.

The North Face and Gucci Also Team Up on Conservation Efforts

Not only are these two mega-brans focused on creating unique, outdoor-inspired clothing, The North Face and Gucci are also continuing with their sustainability efforts.

The partnership allows The North Face to continue down the path with ECONYL. ECONYL is a nylon fabric that’s sourced from regenerated materials, as well as packaging made from sustainably managed forest sources.

Earlier this year Gucci launched its first sustainable collection with Off the Grid.

Of course, The North Face and Gucci came together when creating one, unison logo that represents each brand.

The majority of the emblem is that of The North Face. But the half-circle, which symbolizes the famous Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, blends perfectly into Gucci’s signature green and red stripe.

As far as the price tag goes on these exclusive items, that’s something we’re going to have to camp on. But we’re assuming these items are something you’ll hike to your mailbox in, and not the Grand Canyon.
