There’s nothing purer than the love between animals. Our hearts were full when a camera captured a tender moment shared between two love-bird bald eagles.
The eagles, known as Jackie and Shadow, are seen getting cozy sitting in a tree together. And we can’t help but sing that silly song from our childhoods… Jackie and Shadow, sittin’ in a tree… K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
They proved they’re just like us humans as they share a couple of sweet pecks and kisses.
Located in Big Bear Valley outside of San Bernardino County, California, the eagle cam began as a response to make people feel better during the pandemic.
Executive Director Sandy Steers believes that more people tune in to watch the live stream this year, due to the social isolation tendencies caused by the virus.
“I think it’s helping everybody because they’re saying it’s the one place they can go that makes them feel good, watching this pair online,” SB Sun reported Sandy saying. “That warms my heart.”
The Eagles are Expecting Baby Eaglets
Jackie and Shadow’s nest currently sits at 120 feet off the ground, giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “social distancing.” They’ve spent time making their nest “homey” by adding sticks and other materials to the nest.
In addition, Steers believes the happy couple is also expecting babies, known as eaglets. As Jackie patiently waits to lay eggs, she prepares by sitting in her nest bowl.
The Facebook page, “Friends of Big Bear Valley and Big Bear Eagle Nest Cam,” originally shared the video on Tuesday. Since then, it’s received a high number of views, likes, and comments.
Friends of Big Bear Valley and Big Bear Eagle Nest Cam wrote on Facebook, “Jackie decides once again to test out the nest bowl, shes twirling some fluff around…feeling comfortable it seems. Once Shadow realizes what she is doing, the kissy kissy starts.”
It’s impossible not to say “awww,” as Shadow sweetly nudges and kisses Jackie. As of now, the video’s received over 13k views, 292 comments, and 2.7 shares.
Many of the comments were overwhelmingly appreciative of the video. One user wrote, “They are a beautiful sight to wake up to and especially at a time in our world that we need some genuine happiness!! Thank you for sharing.”
The heartwarming video reminds us all that what we need now, more than ever, is love.
